CALL: OCBC Investment Research upgrades Straits Asia Resources (AJ1.SG)
to Buy from Hold, citing value emerging from recent selldown triggered
by collapse of coal-loading facility last month; "we believe that
negatives have been priced in at current levels. Any successful
attempts to make up for production shortfall will serve as near-term
catalysts." Still, cuts target price to S$2.07 from S$2.20 to reflect
higher cost of equity. Also lowers FY09 production forecast to 7.8
million tons from 9 million tons despite management's guidance of being
able to meet initial targets. Stock +3.3% at S$1.89. (FKH)

Hi Minty 88 ,
It means that the downtrend would not changed in the direction , until further indicators show confirmation of the bottom formed n validation of the key reversal takes place . Obviously , short n long term moving averages are crossing down above the share price .

Do not depend on research house to make yr buy or sell.
U will broke faster
even DBS seems desperate now ... :) even DBS support SA ... hehe SA will still be down.... DBS are fighting more than one BB.

I agreed with Bintang, this counter has been on a downtrend since end of Oct, even if it goes up, it will still be a downtrend. Hopefully, after DBS issued a buy call and with TP, it will goes up.

I agreed with Bintang, this counter has been on a downtrend since end of Oct, even if it goes up, it will still be a downtrend. Hopefully, after DBS issued a buy call and with TP, it will goes up.

Good 3Q09 results.
Straits Asia Resources Ltd's (SAR) 3Q09 results came in within expectations. Revenue grew 18.5% YoY and 14.0% QoQ to US$200.1m, operating profit increased by 32.0% YoY and 25.5% QoQ to US$63.2m, and net profit surged by 64.8% YoY and 80.1% QoQ to US$38.6m. The improvement in revenue was driven by higher ASP and volumes, while lower effective tax rates boosted earnings growth. Keeping to its 60% dividend payout
