I still believe this September would be an exceptional 'UP' month - despite it being the worst month for trading historically. Be more wary of October though cos oil price will go up again ...

Strong interest in plastic moulding stocks today because of falling oil prices.

According to a Citigroup report this month, STI has staged a rally in Q4 in 7 of the past 10 years, with the exception of 1997, 2000 and 2002, when economy uncertainty was rife. Q4 has usually emerged as the best-performing quarter of the year, with an average return of 9% over the past 10 years.

This could be linked to the year-end effect when investors put to use "on expectations of better prospects for the year ahead".

But UOBAM estimates the returns to be between 4-5%.

STI will be positive today .... in tune to US markets last nite. And lower oil & metal prices. Plus, we missed the last Friday's US upbeat in yesterday's trading too.

This few days, trade with care as vol is getting less and sti getting tired, uninteresting dull and unexcited as oil px is still very unsettle through it bring cheer!! to heavyly depended oil countries, it may oso bring uncertainty as well, what is certain is what it has plan for......... then suddenly oil went down catching alot of ppl by surprise, so throwing all their plan all into more confusion, so for those who expected to the unexpected. those who plan this unexpected. Bingos...to them.

All markets in Asia-Pacific trending down significantly today (except Taiwan). Nikkei 225 in Japan closes below 16,000. European markets have opened weak as well. STI just following regional trent, no specific reason other than taking a breather after good run-up in August.

Yes, its a dreary Monday. September has traditionally been a bad month for trading.
