Must have $$$ left to wait for mkt recovery or fight against the market.  If the price of the 2 lots (> $1.00each)is high, wait for the next two months or so for the likelihood of prices dipping to <70cts.  If one didn't SL when a price dips, then one should average up when there's a definite trend reversal by buying, say, 10 lots.  Take profit once there's a profit to be made and walk away from the stock as it would take some time for it to recover >$1.00. Traders (not value or growth investors)
ramped up or ramped down a share as that is their daily bread.
The bitter lesson:  please walk away from a share that has enjoyed a few waves of  uptrend over a few months however strong the confirmed earning growth, especially when it becomes range bound without any increasing volume (based on the lame excuse that the forecast growth has beeen factored into the then price). As the  market is "illogical" (e.g. some shares have "bled" non-stop immediately after being listed without any sign of recovery to their IPO prices) ) and  "cash strapped" (since there has not been a broad based rally after the short one in March 1999), it may make sense  to get  COMPLETELY out of the market by making whatever little profit, until a broad based rally returns. Why allow SG..., ST.... and G.... (three beneficiaries)  to suck the blood of "bleeding"  retail players? .

Chipchip, I understand it is emotionally difficult for most people to cut loss. Concerning Biot view it as a long term investment as you did not buy it at the peak and althought it is a loss now, the fundamental of this chinese stock is good. Most "unblooded" participants in the market are understandably distressed by the wild swings of a market gripped by greed and fear. If you can afford it keep the shares and from experience I tell you that you will not regret this advise.Let me illustrate during the first gulf war with the threat of cutting of oil supply, the Keppel corp which we bought at between $5 to $6 took a bad hit nd at he bottom was only $2.5.  But we knew the fundamental was there and if we had cut loss we would have realise a real loss of more than 50% as the fall was rapid and on thin vol. Soon after the war the share rebounded remarkably and we are still holding the major bulk of the share holding with an annual capital appreciation of 6% tax free. Biot is a reckonable water treatment enterprise positioned to take advantage of China's relentless growth and water needs  for the long long term whether the world goes into recession or not. The excessive angst concerning her mgt. in S'pore is temporary do not be distracted by the negative comments hovering over this stock now. We are still taking advantage of this emotionally induced weakness and has been buying since it broke through $0.80. There are others who view the stocks differently, lock your shares up and look for further opportunities during this time.

Sometimes it is very difficult to cut loss. People who hold will just hav to hold on and wait for good news like contract awards and broking house recommendations. Although I got 2 lots, still i feel the pain of cutting loss! I think i don't have the courage to chop chop!

Nostradamus Elite's advice must not taken lightly. Please don't think 70 cents is the lowest (as the analysts have an axe to grind) as the low in a downtrend usually becomes much lower than the previous two lows. It's to exploit the mentality of buying low and selling high as those who have no holding power may S/L as it dips. . Don't buy it until there is a definite sign of trend reversal - high volume with steadily increasing price, not a sudden increase in volume and price.  Biot has enjoyed a very healthy run since its  IPO @ 45 cents.   When funds  dumped them, it will take an excruciating long period for it to recover to its glorious past.  They will just move their fund to the new favourites for the day.  Retail investors should  never hope to move the market.

I've seen some stocks whose RSI dropped below 10, maybe even 5. Oversold can become more oversold.

To restore investor confidence, the bosses should hav a roadshow to address people's concerns. Maybe hold a buffet dinner for those who hold 10 lots or more?? Like that i must top-up another 8 lots to go for free makan.

Hi chipchip66,

It looks likely to break $0.70 now. If you bought at $0.725, you would have let go for a small profit. Expect more downside.
