F& N sources told TODAY Mr Charoen would likely place between 5 and 10 per cent of the Singapore icon to various institutions to ensure just that.
just enough placement to maintain listing status. I don't see the point here. Is a waste of time and money.

Its not set in stone yet. April 18 is the date.
The question should be, will F& N falls if it continues its listing? F& N is fully price in at this juncture.

TWO senior appointments to the board of Fraser and Neave (F& N) have triggered a market rethinking that controlling shareholder Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi may want the company to stay listed after all.
" It does suggest that they might want to keep it listed," said Jonathan Foster, director of global special situations at Religare Capital Markets.
F& N, a property and beverage conglomerate, said yesterday that it has appointed food and beverage (F& B) veteran Koh Poh Tiong as adviser to the board and non-independent, non-executive director with immediate effect.
This came a day after F& N announced the appointment of former Singapore finance minister Richard Hu as senior adviser to the board.
Yes, you are right as avg price shorted is .635. Shortists not making money unless they shorted today at Open and covered back at end of day? Stock is indeed on an uptrend, today seems to be just a temporary correction after yesterday's last min over-chiong at closing.
today ,3rd April, shortist shorted another 27 million plus share at 0.636 cts. Total two days ( 2nd and 3rd april )see a total of 66 million shares of Thbev shorted. Will be interesting to see how the shortist`s bet turn out. I will see great risk for the shortist as this stock is currently on the bull run .

correction to your remark`` shortist is shorting and making profit today``.....Yesterday,2nd April, a total of 39.88 million Thbev share was shorted at average price of 0.627cents. So far today`s lowest was 0.625( only 9000 share traded at this price) and now price hover around 0.635 and 0.64. I dont think the shortist is making any money yet. If the next few trading days see price moving up, the shortist will lose big big. If the longist pushed up the price at end of every closing day, it will not be easy to make money shorting ThBev. I think as 18th deadline approaches, price will go to 70 cents.

Yesterday saw a last minute surge to close +6.6% at $0.65, a new record high. Over the past wks, Thai Bev has repeatedly seen last minute price and volume surges to close at day highs. The resulting marubozu candles are considered to be bullish.
Yday’s upmove may be partially due to SGX giving notice to FNN to clarify its intention on listing status by 18 Apr and some funds bought into this counter. Market watchers were hopeful that this could accelerate any restructuring / integration plans between Thai Bev and FNN. Recall Thai Bev owns a 29% stake in FNN, which corresponds to the value of F& B assets within FNN. It makes sense for Thai Bev to exchange its FNN stake for FNN’s F& B assets via a share-asset swap. This would allow Thai Bev to broaden its product range and geographical reach, and emerge as an Asean F& B power house.
The stock trades at 13.7x P/E, a discount to smaller SGX listed consumer peers at ~20x.

Does anyone know why there was a sudden surge? Is because of SGX's query of F& N? If so how does the fundamentals of this company change?
