Banking on a strong 2H

2Q13net profit recoveredfrom a net loss in 1Q. This was dueto strong core revenueand positive contributions from itsassociate, NPRT. We expect 2H13to compensate for theweak1H13.Midas ison track to meet our full-year target giventhe current earnings momentum.

Maintain Outperform

Midas is currently trading at 0.95x CY13 P/BV, still below its historical mean of 1.46x. We believe the resumption of HSR contracts will be a major price catalyst.

CIMB TP : 0.70

Still a suspecious report.

Income statement Profit from associate is 3.149M, but look at balance sheet interest in associate decrease by 8.04M??

Other operation income increase by 3x, the report talk about scape material price increase and interest income??? Aluminium price have beening dropping for the last two quarter, do you think company will buy the scape aluminium at 3x the price? And scape aluminium is definitely less then the raw aluminium, compare the other opertation  income with cost of sales and also remove the interest receive at cash flow statement, that is around 4.10%, and consider the price different between raw aluminium and scape aluminium the % of scape material is even higher then 4.1%.

The wastage for aluminium profilling usually is kept within 0~2%, such a high % scape is really???

Sry, meant to say the dividend yield is 0.5%, which is not big and may not affect prices that much

Profits up 779% from 2Q2012 as associate turned in a small profit instead of a loss previously. However, gross profit dropped by 7.9% even though revenue went up by 29.2% , as costs went up higher by 46.2%. Dividend is peanuts right? 0.0025c = 2.5 dollars for every 1000 shares. 10 lots = $25 only . Dividend is negligible. I think the only optimism abt the report is that the PRC plan to increase investments in railway. However, I think this may already have been priced in in the recent run up. Any opinions, anyone?

Outlook

The PRC Government?s pledge to speed up railway investments and China Railway Corporation?s (" CRC" ) plan to raise annual investments in fixed assets to RMB660 billion in 2013

In view of the above, the Group remains moderately optimistic on the outlook of China?s railway industry over the mid to long-term. At the export front, the Group continues to make good progress in its strategy to grow its businesses, securing additional projects for the Russian and Singapore markets in early 2013. Moving forward, the Group will continue to actively identify and harness opportunities in other product segments as well as in export markets.

" We are optimistic that continued business opportunities in both China and regional markets will continue to benefit market players. In addition, our leading position as an established supplier noted for delivering quality products and services will continue to position Midas well to harness these growth opportunities," Mr Chew concluded.
