The only thing comfort I get is that it is in the "gaming" industry....the caveat is the question of political unrest in Philippines to distrupt its business growth plans in the future...."x" my fingers

NEW YORK: The US dollar renewed its decline against key currencies on Thursday as speculation grew on a government stimulus plan to inject cash into the financial markets. The euro was trading at 1.3929 dollars around 2100 GMT, up from 1.3767 dollars on Wednesday, when the greenback rose against the European money for the second straight day. The dollar dropped to 80.98 against the Japanese yen from 81.75 on Wednesday. The greenback has trended lower in recent weeks amid expectations the Federal Reserve will soon renew large-scale asset purchases to boost the economy, in what is known as quantitative easing. "The markets are still lacking some conviction, there is a large back and forward in regards of the Federal Reserve quantitative easing, what form it is going to take, how aggressive it is going to be," said Wells Fargo analyst Nick Bennenbroek. Speculation on easing steps grew after the New York Fed on Wednesday released a survey which asked market participants about their expectations for the size of any further debt purchases by the Fed. "This survey is having some impact on the market sentiment," Bennenbroek said. On Wednesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the central bank will purchase bonds worth several hundred billion dollars over several months, less than hoped for by traders, which boosted the dollar. In late New York trade, the dollar fetched 0.9833 Swiss francs, down from 0.9902 on Wednesday. The pound rose to 1.5938 dollars from 1.5769.

SINGAPORE: As more hot money flows into Asia, private equity investors are concerned that company valuations will become a bit too rich, leading to an overheated market. However, global experts say there is no bubble yet, as Asian private equity vehicles are only starting to see signs of growth. Josh Lerner, a professor at Harvard Business School, said that the average return for private equity globally stood at about 20 per cent. In comparison, returns for private equity in Asia are only 5 per cent, on average. With several Asian sovereign funds investing in private equity, experts expect the industry to triple in size in the next ten years with China and India leading this growth. "I think we will continue to see this pattern of hyper-growth in China for quite some time to come. And it requires real management challenges for many companies. To grow in a sustainable way, and not to be caught up in a bubble that can be so disruptive," said Professor Lerner. Some experts, like SMU Associate Professor Melvyn Teo, believe that Asian companies are growing too big, too quickly and that may pose some problems for private-equity investors. "Investment horizon is getting more compressed. In the past, for developed countries it used to be ten years. Now people are rushing to do their IPOs and getting it done within 5 or even 3 years. It gives investors a lot less time to do their due diligence before going into the deal," he said. Other than the two Asian giants - China and India - experts say private equity investors are also starting to look at investment opportunities in Indonesia and Vietnam.

Pharoah88, that's a good idea (thanks for sharing again) but definitely I havent learnt the trick of intraday trading.........
epliew....I held Genting Sp since 06.....did nothing about it (as life got busier for me) till I came across this forum in late Aug 2010. If the same applies to genting hk (you must do your own FA) where it's growth prospect is still positive.....its share price in 2013 may have been 2x, 3x?
Again, ,ust also learn how to ride the wave.....e.g. the Tsunami signal Pharoah88 gave the last time on 20-24 Sep was on time for profit taking and re-entering 10-15% discount.
strange ghost is vacation.....
no big seller.....
hk up a little by little.

Since September 2010 till now, GENTING HK is excellent for proficient trading [INTRADAY TRADE] which could make a profit of between US$0.01 to US$0.03 per day.
With 100,000 that means a profit of USD1,000 to USD3,000 per day.
If you see profit taking, use your existing holding to sell first and buy back by end of day [INTRADAY TRADE].
WARNING:
Your TIMING must be gOOd.
NEVER SELL when it is lOw.
Only SELL when it is hIgh.
There is One BLACK SWAM RISK.
That is, when the Tsunami Wave arrives the share price will be blOwn away.

GENTING HK is innovating its business aggressively.
It may even increase its stake in UNION BANK later and become a CASINO BANK.
Its listing of NCL in USA is an excellent move for increasing market valuation.
It has secured enough funds for all the expansions.

Genting Hong Kong, once known as Star Cruises, is a three-pronged US$3 billion market-cap gaming entity comprising
- Star Cruises in Asia,
- NCL in the US, and
- Resorts World Manila in the Philippines.
After plodding along for much of last year, all three businesses appear to have established strong footholds in their respective areas and are turning around strongly.
UOB-KayHian, which tracks the company, expects Genting Hong Kong to post pre-tax earnings of US$115.3 million for this year and US$190.5 million for 2011, against a loss of some US$24 million for 2009.
Meanwhile, market insiders here also see Genting Hong Kong as a cheaper warrant on Genting Singapore, whose price has risen sharply in recent months following the strong performance of its Singapore integrated resort at Sentosa.
