I concur with sis Elfin's elaborate analysis. The next couple of trading days will be decisive for Genting. Price has closed at its 0.92 support level. 0.90 is the level to watch. If it breaks and closes below this level, with increasing volume, a breakout downwards is firm.
I suggest fence sitting at this point of time if you're not Genting's valued shareholder yet.

yupz. basically from a TA pt of view. Genting haven't hit the bottom yet. Those who are holding might have to do so for a while. FA wise, I simply cannot see how sentose IR can lose $...that's my confidence in the S'pore govt. one thing I know our govt is v good at is MAKING $$...haha
ok, elf is a very pragmatic person, so i'll focus only on what the charts say.
genting techs:
with today's drop, MACD has crossed to negative territory; indication of the beginning of long term downtrend.
lead indicators a/d and c/o have actually read down since 17th april, with a confirmed sell signal coming 3 days later on 20th april at close of 1.04. williams especially has been showing a serious downtrend from 25th may to today. close to -100 oversold--data reads -42 to -92 in just 4 trading sessions. (you use williams as a more accurate gauge than RSI because this is a trending stock in a trending market)
bollies are still tightening, ie, today's drop is not the end of the story yet: the breakout drop has not yet occurred.
busd data:
there is not that much BB action in this counter already, in fact. Most of the lots you see are contra-ists, shortists and swing traders, with lots of small retailers buying in.
To make the BB action clearer: weeding out lots of 500 and above, leaving out the final 1600+ lots married trade at closing bell:
bu: 5857 lots.
sd: 11461 lots.
esp significant is the sell down of 4544 lots at 1655 hrs.
definitely distribution going on.
buyers beware. when the last of the BBs are out of the counter, you can expect the slow steady decline as with osim, longcheer, even gems now (altho that one is not yet bottoming out either).
the support, as zujzuj pointed out (heya, nice to have a techie's concurrence! :)), was 0.94c. that is broken. your next viable support is abt 0.82. so quite a steep fall there. testing the lower bollie band. if it breaks it, that's your freefall.

sometimes, winnings/losing in the market is like a challenge/speculation/homework (analysis).. while inflating oneself at the expenses of others are shallow/attention seekers/poor upbringing/dreamers.. very pity the boastful, as he is deceiving himself... anyway, i going to "divert" my attention away liao la.. not point harping on the impossible.. This stock is for investors who believe in the potential fundamental prospect of IR Biz ( casino, hotels and entertainment theme park). Not for those weak heart speculators who run amok amid BB's momentum play.
Go N or S, will have no impact on real investors. It's not news that this counter has been trading with high PE, but the fact of it's sustainability till now shows the confidence of it's long term investors in the nature of the IR biz. If the price really drop to it's low dip, BB will be the one who has the last laugh. Investors will be more happy to accumulate more.
As some of our forumers had mentioned, this counter is for long term investment, not for short term so let's give it 1yr 5mths and the result will tell.

Many Will Expect GI to come down to 0.9 level, however what it may seems instead will turn the other way....kena all those shortist kau kau and can't wait to buy up to cover their position before the BB comes in again..:approve:

I entered on 22/5/07 upon breakout of downtrend line with huge volume. However, it failed to maintain the momentum for the past few days, hitting a high of 0.99 but always closing lower for the day. Most days have upper shadows (signs of weakness).
For the indicators, stoc has cut down, with MACD still in red,Acc/Div chart shows downtrending.... furthermore, today price is disappointing, dropping below the 0.955 support (13, 26 EMA). Bollinger bands tightening might indicate a big price action very soon (can be up / down ...but now more likely down).
Having said all this, I promptly cut loss at 0.945 today...
