Making big big buys today... BBs are out to punish the shortees today.
UP or Down ?
Hi weishen81,
I m glad for u tat u are trying to pick as mush knowledge as iu can n bot those books n visited those recommended websites.
So sorry tat I dun know of any methods to learn virtual trade with SG stocks.
Wat I did to practice wat I learnt n refine n hone my skills is to read how other analysts n TA websites eg: ttp://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/Favorites.CServlet?obj=ID369857&cmd=show&disp=p analysed n also self pracice by pulling out any chart, cover up thecandles n test my knowledge n predict the next day price action n then reveal the next day candle to see whether I m right or wrong, if wrong, where did I go wrong, but of course, at times we might be right but the price action the next day shows us wrong as the mkt at times are weird animal or we failed to identify tat is a fake candle eg candle body size, vol, divergence, etc n thus importance of setting stop-loss is crucial.

Hi Richtan, thanks once again for your help. Trying to pickup as much knowledge as possible. Have already bought some of the books that you recommended in those earlier posts, visiting the websites like oilngold to learn more about TA.. Is there any methods to learn virtual trade with local SG stocks? becos i opened an account with OptionsXpress, but their platform only allow Virtual Trade with US stocks..... Anyone knows? OK thanks richtan! Much appreciated. Hope to learn from you again if I need help. Have a great week!

Hi weishen81,
Trade Summary shows the "done deal" as oppose to the "buy/sell q" whereby BVol means the volume queueing to buy n SVol means the volume queueing to sell.
Normally, I ignore these queues as at most times, they are fake queues to trick newbies n used by the BB to "block n thrust" (putting up big buy volume to block buyers, so gives u the false impression of big q to buy n thrust to u if u catch their q on the seller's q) or vice-versa "block n catch" whereby if the seller is "put-off" by the huge sell q, might just throw to them at the buy q and they "catch" it. These buy/sell q can appear n disappear at their discretion.
In the "Trade Summary", which means done deal, the "sellvol" means trades done by buying from the seller's q and if all the seller's q is exhausted, the sell q will jump up to the next higher level and vice-versa. So when the "Trade Summary" shows higher "sellvol" than 'buyvol", it is known as a "buy-up" as more trades are done by "buying-up" from the sell q.
Hope this clarifies. |

Hi richtan and dear all,
I wish to know when you are referring to "heavy buying-up (almost double the sell-down), ", what does it mean? Because on the Table posted, which one actually refers to the amount of pple buying the counter? Should I look at SELL VOL (3,837) or BUY VOL (2,140).
Because i "thought" if i look at the BUY VOL, the statement doesnt make sense to me? Paiseh ah if the question is silly. Stil learning TA reading. Thanks!!! |

Hi DnApeh , nice n interesting comments , in my opinion , if ADX is not rising , the trend would go sideway , if the ADX is at its extreme high level , the share price would go up or maintain at that level for quite some times .

Hi, Bintang.
Interesting comparison between Midas and Rotary from a technical stand-point, for the period since JUL 09.
May i offer my comments:
1) Over-bought counters does not mean will not go up and more. (vice-versa for oversold counters.) In order for a counter to go higher and higher, ie trending higher, it MUST be overbought. If not overbought, how to go higher & higher? You may want to compare the ADX of the 2 counters. Midas daily chart ADX is low, although it seems to be truning up from a low base. Midas weekly chart ADX is still moving up. Rotary ADX in both dail and weekly charts are high.
2) In Midas weekly chart, price is encountering resistance at 100MA. Rotary broke through the same in end July 09.
i am just kaypoh, not vested in either counter.

Midas has got many analysts 's recommendations and predictions of reasonable upside target prices , but in fact , its share price did not move much as comparing to other counters since Jul 09 . Looking at other mid-cap counter like Rotary or penny counter like Uni-envtech ,during the same period , they had appreciated so much in term of percentage . Rotary had improved from 87 cents to $1.25 now at a profit margin of 43% . For Uni- envtech which had enjoyed a huge profit margin of 250% had surged fom 15 cents to 37 cents at the same period of time . Why is Midas not moving much compares to other counters in the same period ? After analysing their charts , I discovered that there is only one indicator behind the moving force of the fast moving counter . Although Midas 's fundamental (FA) is as good as Rotary , but in comparing their TA , we could find out that during the same period , Rotary has stronger RSI than Midas 's RSI .In the weekly chart , Rotary 's RSI is staying firm above 70 where is an over-bought territory , but Midas never .So now is only one factor affecting the share price , that is the relative strength of the share price movements or RSI .RSI is a price momemtum indicator which is the rate of change oscillator .And it measures the velocity when share price is moving . In conclusion , if we finally see Midas is moving up shiftly ,that means its RSI (weekly) is in very over-bought position (above 80) already . |

No matter wat the 1 lotter do is useless,
"Trade Summary" at this point in time still keep showing extremely heavy buying-up (almost double the sell-down), but of course, nothing is guaranteed, may change, so dyodd n BOSAYOR:
WEIGHTED AVG PRICE : 0.8705 |
LAST DONE PRICE : 0.865 |

The profit margin from this counter is not impressive as compared with Rotary
I bought Midas at 0.45 cents sometime in mid april and sold yesterday at 0.87 (profit 94%)
As for Rotary 0.38 cents, sold at 1.25 (228%)
Now shift my fund to Genting

Still left 5%. five cards over 21? Just joking.
Yes Oct is indeed critical. Hopefully Chinese Central government will not favour other 3 Makers. Also everyone must remember no one can guarantee they can win the contract (nothing is 100%) however midas has great potential. So far the odds of winning new contracts is still over 95%. I know some big shot kid while i am in australia, so i know how the chinese government contract works :)
25% of getting a blackjack :) (Major Contracts)
35% of getting a 20 :) ( Mid-size Contracts)
30% of getting a 17 :) (Small-size Contracts)
5% of getting no new contracts
So the odds are quite ok la.

Will be away in Europe from 1 Oct to 12 Oct and will be unable to actively monitor my shares as I will be without internet access most of the time. Currently vested in midas and capitaland. Should I cash out before I leave or just leave the shares as it is since I will be gone for 1.5 week?
Looking forward to all of your advice. Thanks.

This share is a gem in the making :) It can reach $2 range 1 Year from now. "Provided contract really comes thru". I expected some winning contracts during Q2 results thats why i am disppointed with their performance. However by Q3 results if they still couldnt win any new contracts i might started to worry.

lol shares always change my friend thats why i amended 0.85 enough liao in the morning session. Anyway the strategy is there thats the most important. The last min surge is just shorters covering lol if u think BB buying your Wrong. Very very wrong
bennykusman ( Date: 18-Sep-2009 17:47) Posted:
it does touch 0.85, but it close higher.. this is what you wrote: Monday Jim brought 20 lots @ 0.85 (How many buyers are like Jim) Tuesday Jenny Brought 10 lots @ 0.86 (How many buyers are like jenny) Remember there are big time contra player as well.
Wednesday BB Pump it up to $0.89 - Those contra players who brought yesterday = confirm dead. If BB want them dead. More people chase @ $0.88 , $0.87 because somehow the charge shows that the trend and direction = positively up.
Thursday BB pressure it to 0.86 -0.87 range Jim & Jenny still can make money if he exit today
Friday
BB Pump a little up $0.87. People chase again. What if BB short it
down to 0.84 within few throws and all they have to do is hold it for 2
days next week (Tuesday and Wednesday). All Contra players will lose
money. The BB of course have to make money la. so it is eventually the
Contra player that will pay BB profit.
Now ask yourself if that make sense.
In shares If you win, someone will lose thats the balance law.
It doesnt touch 0.84 as u wrote yest...
