ThaiBev is still holding up well today.
today shortist shorted another 35 million Thbev at 0.586 but the price is still holding well above 59cents at close.  If it holds well above 60 cents this will be horrifying for the shortist.

today shortist shorted 30 million thbev.....if price continue to rise from here, they will be scrambling back to cover their short ,thus pushing up the price.

F& N in  volatile play..?. ThaiBEV may see the same situational play on short term, that can likely relatively  happen to both stk. |

The decision to keep F& N  listed on SGX essentially turns ThaiBev  into a holding company with three main units, F& N, Oishi  and Sermsuk, says Jonathan Foster, director of special situations at Religare.
He notes the Thai group has a slight history of having listed subsidiaries “it’s part of a long-term empire building. They seem to like the idea of having a Singapore-listed subsidiary, especially a blue-chip name.”
He expects F& N to become the main property-based listing vehicle for the family, allowing it to inject assets and raise equity. He’s not surprised by the recent volatility in ThaiBev’s shares, noting the market had built in expectations for a private-equity-type transaction of taking F& N private and then redistributing the assets. Foster says synergies and asset redistribution will be more difficult when minority shareholder approval is needed.
I hope so!

If it moves up today, this long term target will become mid term target.

It is a conspiracy from what i see based on the recent develepment. If it can close higher than 58c today  I can say it is unlikely to be pump and dump.Huat to those standing firm.

Yea and that's what I thought too. Pretty mixed up when some financial news states that TCC owns 90.3% of F& N through Thai Beverage, which makes F& N a subsidiary of  Thai Bev, which is in turn a subsidiary of TCC. Anyway, I still feel that in the long term, both Thai Beverage and F& N will still merge to form a stronger company. It just doesn't make sense for Chaoren to pay so much for F& N just to be a standalone subsidiary of TCC. If I am not mistaken, the reason he gave for acquiring F& N is because he wants his drink business to also break into the Singapore market or some sort. On the same note, F& N's beverage business can also break into his market. By merging, which I believe they would in the long term, both companies can then tap into each other's strong points, growing stronger together as a whole. Just my own thoughts and which in any case doesn't really affect me much cuz I only bought in this counter after it broke support level of 0.605 and I didn't really invest much also..

TCC Assets is a private company owned by Chaoren and his wife. It holds the vast majority of shares in F&N. thaibev only owns a fraction and if I didn't remember wrongly its not more than 30%. Thus only if TCC assets decide to make F&N a subsidiary under thaibev, then there will be direct benefits of earnings reported in thaibev. It seems like Chaoren is keen to keep F&N which has a better reputation and strong brand in its century old history.

Actually I am confused. If TCC own 90+% of F& N through Thai Beverage, then F& N would already be a subsidary of Thai Bev, which means  F& N's profits, cashflows and assets would also contribute to the financial fundamentals of Thai Bev. Therefore whether F& N is delisted or not, I do not see much implication. Even if F& N is not a subsidary of Thai Bev, which means F& N is an independent entity by itself and it's financials do not contribute to Thai Bev, in the long run, I believe F& N would still be delisted and merge with Thai bev for when they merge, they can leverage on each other's distribution & retail networks and assets, increasing revenue and  cutting costs such as transport, distribution, storage, etc... |

When betting get so serious,  for bigger fish, one billion dollar is added to the bid,
one S$ billion dollar of
more  debt to clear.
Now that it's succeed. Is like a smaller fish  has carry this too big, a  babe.

The run up is significant since they announcement to bid for F&N, a smaller fish bet for a bigger fish, now that dust had settled.
It's time to settle down too on how best to settle those debt?. |
