GenSp starts to move up again

It's owing money.... but i don't think Casino will go bankrupt lah... now yoy in vegas trip increased 23% with MGM majority of their income from there...so last Fri it increased the most.

a lot of buying at 2.02. should be able to close with a white candle but still now too early to say.

Singapore’s Straits Times Index fell 0.4%to 3,153.34.   Shipping companies: The Baltic Dry Index of commodity- shipping rates gained 1.3%in London Oct. 8, taking its six-day advance to 10%.   Cosco Corp. Singapore (COS SP), a China-based shipbuilder that also operates bulk carriers, climbed 2.7%to $1.89. Mercator Lines Singapore (MRLN SP), an Indian bulk carrier, was unchanged at 29  cents. STX Pan Ocean Co. (STX SP), South Korea’s biggest bulk carrier, slid 2.1%to $14.82.   Biosensors International Group (BIG SP): The maker of drug-coated stents used to treat blocked arteries said Autumn Eagle agreed to buy a 29.5%stake in the company. Biosensors rose 1%to $1.   Keppel Land (KPLD SP): The real-estate company’s Alpha Investment Partners unit said it invested US$210 million in Seoul Square, an office building in the South Korean capital. Keppel Land, partly-owned by the world’s biggest oil-rig builder, rose 0.2%to $4.10.   Noble Group (NOBL SP): The Hong Kong-based commodities supplier may nearly double its revenue in Brazil this year to more than US$1 billion ($1.30 billion), O Estado de S. Paulo reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Ricardo Leiman. Noble gained 1.5%to $2.01.   Saizen Real Estate Investment Trust (SZREIT SP): The owner of apartments in Japan said it sold Villa Kaigancho, a residential complex, in Hokkaido, northern Japan, for 250.7 million yen ($3.91 million). The stock was unchanged at 15.5 cents.   Wilmar International (WIL SP): The world’s largest palm-oil trader said it signed a mandate for a US$1.1 billion term-loan facility to fund the purchase of Sucrogen. Wilmar also agreed to a A$600 million facility ($774.4 million) to fund general capital needs, it said. Its shares fell 0.7%to $5.98.

GentingSP is near oversold region, so a bounce might be possible. Still it is a risky trade because it is still in downtrend and the uptrend may not resume until close to result announcement date because of funds flowing to the IPOs. I prefer to buy in when there aren't so many risk factors, not when there is so much uncertainty.

1. Singapore Week Ahead

Singapore stock market continued to rally this week. Straits Times Index (STI) had its seventh consecutive weekly rise.

STI started the week strong, only to succumb to profit taking later the week. Investors were cautious ahead of the monthly US employment. As usual pennies continued to dominate the top volume list. A stock of importance to investigate is Genting Sp. After reaching a high of $2.18, it was trending downwards for the past 3 weeks. Genting Sp may perhaps be the most traded stock for the past 3 months. It may have further downside as the rally earlier may be overdone. Further weakness in the stock price of Genting Sp may affect overall market sentiment.

Many important US companies shall announce results for the next two weeks. As usual market expects improvement in earnings, more so after the recent rally of the US market. Market may be especially volatile next week as companies release results. In Singapore, SPH shall announce result next Tuesday. Since it will be a full year result, a good dividend announcement is also expected.

As mentioned last week, October may see the listing of three giant government IPOs. They are Mapletree Industrial Trust (S$1.1b), Global Logistcs Properties (US$2.64b) and Sabana Reit (S$500mil). Global Logistics is expected to start the public offering early next week at a price of $1.96. Generally such huge government related IPOs trade mildly higher on their first trading day. Retail investors may also find that the odd of being balloted is also high. 

Nevertheless market seemed to have established a temporary top this week. It may be prudent for investors to stay sideline for the next few weeks. This is especially so since the market is currently in the traditionally uncertain month of October.

In short, seven consecutive weekly rise in STI may be too much. It may be prudent to stay sideline for the next few weeks.

Genting long long term still worth a look but beware what goes up comes down theory. I think I read article someone from Genting sold quite a qty at 2.05? I think is the high high management. Correct me if wrong pleasessss...

Shipping stocks had long rose and is likely to go higher too. You can use Baltic Index as a reference.
