Thai Bev is up 4.7% at $0.66 on firm volume, is a beneficiary of FNN's $3.28 cash distribution to shareholders given its 29% stake in FNN.
This should alleviate investor concerns regarding Thai Bev's relatively high 117% net gearing.
An added catalyst as highlighted by CIMB, would be for TCC/Thai Bev to reveal its strategy for FNN.
I miss the boat... Still a good chance to buy?

F& N distributes S$4.7b in cash, most goes to Thai owners
SINGAPORE – Fraser & Neave (F& N) said on Friday it would distribute S$4.73 billion in cash to shareholders in a capital reduction programme after it booked a gain of S$4.75 billion from the sale of its stake in Asia Pacific Breweries to Dutch brewer Heineken.
The bulk of the money will go to the company’s Thai controlling shareholders, TCC Assets and Thai Beverage, which together hold about 90 per cent of F& N shares after winning a takeover battle for the food & beverage and property company early this year.
F& N, which is proposing to return S$3.28 in cash for each share, said it had considered and proposed a capital reduction previously in connection with the sale of the its interests in APB and Asia Pacific Investment. When the resolution was not passed, the board indicated that it would revisit the issue at a later stage.
“Having reviewed the capital structure and the leverage position of the company, the board is of the view that the capital of the company is in excess of its immediate requirements and the capital reduction will allow the company and its subsidiaries to achieve a more efficient capital structure and also enable the company to distribute substantially the company’s gain from the APB sale,” F& N said.
“After the capital reduction, the board believes that the company continues to maintain a sufficient capital base which will allow it to focus on existing operations whilst maintaining sufficient flexibility to position itself to take advantage of business opportunities which may arise in the near or medium term in the food and beverage sectors as well as the real estate sectors in the region,” it added.
F& N, which has until July 19 to restore its public float to stay listed on the Singapore Exchange, also announced on Friday that its second-quarter profit fell 44.9 per cent from the corresponding period a year earlier to S$47.1 million after incurring S$72 million in expenses related to the takeover offers made for its business. This included the break-up fee of S$50 million that F& N had to pay to Overseas Union Enterprise after the rival Thai consortium won the takeover battle.
Revenue for F& N in the three months ended March 31 rose 17 per cent to S$912 million.

Thai Bev results will be announced on 14th May. Maybe a run up in price soon before results announcement?
thbev and FNN share the same stk price movement. FNN has been on an constant uptrend since lifting of halt and this is a good indication that the insider are buying and accumulating FNN and this is good for Thbev. The latter will benefit greatly from a spin-off of the beverage business of FNN. Tgt price is beyond 80ct after july 19th. My advice is....... still can accumulate Thbev around this price.

any idea when this news coming?
Price have been climbing since the recent fall to 55c.BBs have accumulating since then.Now the insiders are buying up.Seems like there are big news coming up regarding the synergy btwn FNN and Thbev.Possible of special dividends from the sale of APB and FNN.
