The losses in the biological assets of the Group arising from the damages caused by Typhoon Usagi amounted to approximately RMB12.3 million based on the preliminary estimation.

Just trade with care because this is ONLY the PRELIMINARY ESTIMATION, more damages and losses may be reported soon.

I would think that it's a good news. market doesn't like uncertainty. this update provides clarity on the extend of the damages - about $12m RMB. Most farm operations had also resumed. high chance it will move up.

UPDATE ON TYPHOON USAGI
The board of directors (the ?Board? or ?Directors?) of Oceanus Group Limited (the ?Company?,
and together with its subsidiaries, the ?Group?) refers to the announcement made by the
Company on 23 September 2013 in respect of Typhoon Usagi that hit the coastal areas in China
in the third week of September 2013 (the ?23 September 2013?).
The Directors would like to provide an update to the Shareholders that the Singapore
management of the Company has, since the 23 September 2013 Announcement, come together
to investigate and follow up with the amount and scale of damages caused by Typhoon Usagi to
the Group?s China operations and assets. In particular, the Singapore management visited the
farms they could access for on-site due diligence once the access to these farms has been regained, and they have held dialogues with the Group?s PRC management and production team to
understand the situation and extent of damages on the ground.
According to the information provided by the PRC production team based on their assessment,
Typhoon Usagi brought infrastructural damages to the abalone farming and production facilities in
some of the Group?s farms to some extent. For the Group?s abalone farms located in Hui Lai
(Guangdong, China), there are substantial damages caused to facilities, such as the sea front
retaining walls, pump stations and sea front generator rooms etc.. However, operations in other
farms have been resumed.
Typhoon Usagi also wiped out some portion of the Group?s abalones. The losses in the biological
assets of the Group arising from the damages caused by Typhoon Usagi amounted to
approximately RMB12.3 million based on the preliminary estimation.
The Board and the management are currently working actively to come up with new strategies to
enable the Group to recover as soon as practical from the recent losses caused by Typhoon
Usagi.
As and when appropriate, the Company will make further announcements in relation to the above.

thats why i said that the management su*ks. who the hell collected so much money yet breeds their abalones in wild seas. its a time bomb, natural disasters come, all got wiped out. They should have invested those money on breeding farms instead. As usual, nothing good comes out from s chips. Pui..

Oceanus Group ST: short term rebound
Trading Central | 2013-09-26 22:56:00

Alternative scenario: the downside breakout of 0.02 would call for 0.017 and 0.015.

Our pivot point is at 0.02.

Our preference: short term rebound.

Alternative scenario: below 0.02, expect 0.017 and 0.015.

Comment: the RSI is above 50. The MACD is negative and above its signal line. The MACD must break above its zero level to call for further upside. Moreover, the share stands below its 20 and 50 day MA (respectively at 0.02 and 0.03).

Seriously speaking. I still do not understand why they did not want to breed those abalones in farms instead of wild seas. Reduces the risk and everything.
