First Resources (FR SP), an Indonesian palm oil supplier, slumped 8.9% to 92 cents. The company said it raised $100 million selling convertible bonds. DBS Group Holdings said in a report the bonds when converted will result in a potential dilution of 7.3%.
What happened to 1st Res ? Dropped by 8% today!
Ha ha, poor AK had not enough bullets, only bought some GAR n its warrant, to support those who vested in CPO, all coy.
Hmm, hope mine is slow n steady liao. But for that, need to support d wild fire at Indon for better cultivation leh, big wok. Cheers.
A bit late now to buy in.......already voice yout when it was only .0885...
Instead of buying Wilmar>$6,buying first resources in similar biz and Wilmar is First Resources' top clients.
Mr Fangiono said First Resources, whose key crude palm oil customers include Singapore's top commodities firm Wilmar, will fund its expansion mainly through existing cash, at US$185 million as of end-March, and excess cash flow from sales.
First Resource's debt- to-equity ratio is at 5.87 per cent, providing room for debt financing if needed, he said, adding that the firm has no intention to sell new shares to investors.
First Resources' new biodiesel plant, initially slated for launch in the second quarter of this year, will instead start production by the year's end due to a delay in obtaining a permit that allows tax breaks for importing capital equipment, Mr Fangiono said.
These permits have since been approved and the plant will be able to produce 250,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year, he said, adding that the company will ramp up production when the price of biodiesel is above that of crude palm oil.
'The strategy for us is to max out the capacity that we have when it's profitable, but to revert to selling crude palm oil when it's not.'

the co. is busy buying back shares to keep the share price steady. But not sure how long they can tahan. Its 1H08 EPS is lower than GAR, and the co. is still trying to keep the price higher than GAR. When the BB is back on this share and overpower the co. share-buyback, the share price will plunge.

Nobody just 1 2 believe in it.....Since March 08.
19-Mar-2008.
The climb is extreme steep, so is the fall....Trade with care.
Just reminded myself of some other palm oil counters as well....not oni other palm oil stocks, oso almost all other stocks as well. Commodities like metal has fallen, keep falling, err..keep sliding downward. All credit to Sub-prime woes credit meltdown. The worst is not over yet.

Among all the palm oil stocks listed in SGX, this one seems not performing well.......even with share buy-back for the last 2 months, it still keeps dropping.......so sad!

OK, I am starting to accumulate the following counters:
1) First Resources
2) Olam
3) Indo Agr
I felt that cliamte change will push commodity pices higher. However, due to the mkt sentiment, all these counters were being pulled down. However, when the mkt stablises, I believe these commodity counters will surge...my view only!
