Take a look at Nikkei chart weekly with MACD showing Bearish trend. Im unable to paste chart. open chart 1995 to 2007 weekly, short period 48, signal period 36, Long period 104. u will c MACD  in bearish trend.

Bull market started 2003/05/23, sideways 2006/07/01, berish trend 2007/07/02
