Hi stewartgoh, we're just viewing our opinions for all to view and discuss. You must thank this Forum for allowing us to 'state our case' and give yourself a pat for getting it right!

PS . An opinion is neither right or wrong at the time of viewing. It is only right when it happened and wrong if otherwise! Cheers!

As a low price stock falls, any further small fall is magnified in percentage terms...

Thus as it goes lower, the pain is proportionately greater... Smiley

Better to have let go very early once signs are detected initially...
And never average down.
Then one can one day buy back at real bargain prices, perhaps at a fraction of the previous high.

Yes...
The main flaw of humans is that when it comes to matters concerning their being and existence,
they choose to believe things rather than to think correctly and logically with an open mind and without prejudice.
Whereas scientists think with a discovering mind, ordinary humans want to believe in something, anything,
which will make them happy without further thinking and alienation from others, which they fear the most of all things... Smiley

Interesting subject, this hairy thingy. It is found on human bodies rightfully placed for the proctection of the body parts. Some hairs grow faster than others and some will 'disappear' earlier. The funniest part, those you want to grow more with thin-out fast and those you want to have less will grow more. Nothing can beat the original stock grow on you, but human being being human being, will always try to change thing, in this case the colors. If human beings leave things in its original states, then we'll not have so much environmental  problems! But, I suppose that whatever happen, human beings will always find a way to 'reinvent' and carry on the evolution of life into a new 'form' and live longer and longer! Cheers!

It is so interesting to hear from you that 'human beings can be copied'. According to one religion (ie. belief system with undoubtedly sincere and scientific followers), the original designers (but not a 'god') created human beings with genetic engineering.

As far as I am concerned, this explains for example, among many other design features, why human beings have armpit hair.

It is intentionally designed to overcome friction in the armpit area during movement or hard and constant swinging of the arms.
But unfortunately, silly idiotic humans shave it off in defiance of the intelligent designers. And they contiunue to think they are the smartest beings in the whole universe!   ... Smiley

Hikitty, you're rite that all products can be copied, including human beings! The problem with LMA's product is it could be EASILY COPIED! So easy that their competitors could do it and produced one that is equally good if not better and cheaper. That's the reason why Consumers dump LMA's product and go for Ambu's or TYCO's! Look at iPod, no matter how hard the Competitors (including our own Creative) tried no one has yet come close to produce a 'cloned' iPod of equal quality and Users' Friendly - that's why you have lots of 3rd party support of iPod's gadgets and add-ons.

As I've mentioned b4 - the damage is already done! LMA could win all the court cases, Consumers will not bow to LMA's prices (since now they already have got them for cheaper px) or they'll go back to the 'old'  products from Ambu or TYCO (all original products) and force LMA to reduce their S/Px. Their Marketing Dept have been sitting on their fat arse and the only marketing they do is watch the Market instead of tackling the problems head-on to regain Market Control. Good Company with Bad Mgmt is not my cup of tea. I rather invest in bad Company with Good Mgmt! Cheers!

Hi moneymatters

Why aren't Singaporeans as "smart" as Porter or UBS AG by buying LMA shares at its present low prices ?    SGX should stop listing new shares because the local share market is really "impoverished" - too many traders are playing contra, and too many "cheapskate stags" who are quick to make kopi $$$.  If everyone thinks the way to make kopi $$$ is to buy any share when it dips in price, the "manipulators" will keep on trying to making kopi$$ by selling it at lower and lower prices for no rhyme or reason.  Look at Osim - Ron Sim, the founder, has been buying Osim shares progressively when its price kept on dipping to show his absolute confidence in Osim.  LMA mgt only decided to buy after it dipped to its present levels - how "shrewd" or "cruel"!!!!!!

Ambu will try to reach an out of court settlement and not risk paying significant damages (treble the origianl amount plus costs) to LMA.  The charges filed in the US courts should not be taken lightly due to the strict IP protection regime there.  Porter Orlin would not have raised its share holding to 13+% if they thought LMA has a weak case.  As a LLC hedge fund owned by few ultra HNW individuals, they have been known to sniff out good pharma and medical opportunities and profited big time from it.

Hi ten4one

Every product in the world can be copied , not just medical products, but quality or quality control may be different. The world is not a lawless jungle.  Intellectual property rights must be upheld. Even patent drugs can be "copied" after the patent expires, but are they  EXACTLY the same in quality  - definitely not.   Ambu is just stalling for time - it will definitely lose all their appeals and may become a bankrupt owing to the payment of damages.   LMA  should fly when that happens -  in 2008?   Be patient - buy it at its low prices,  and when the funds  start noticing that it is moving north, guess what would  happen .

Hi ten4one

LMA mgt is very shrewd.  Staff options need to be exercised (at the sky high price set by its mgt - when will it be achieved?) and if mgt does not buy back LMA shares at   present "suppressed" low prices, when do you think it would do so. Hope LMA mgt (directors from Singapore) have read your posting, and  will react appropriately in due course!! LMA seems to be holding well coz' of its buy-back scheme and two big funds buying the shares at low prices from those "panicky" or "impatient" investors. Will load up more of LMA shares if it dips to its historical low of 35 cents again.   Sigh -  that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon, leh!

One Question : I've noticed that LMA has been buying back quite a lot of their own shares. Since they've so much money to spare and doing nothing with it (except buying back shares and going to courts), why not return some of the money to Shareholders instead of buying back shares. It is Shareholders' fund and let Shareholders decide what they want to do with their money! Cheers!

What is new.............. ?? ..... Shares Buy Back, Legal Actions.........Maybe LMA should change their business model and specialize in legal action for IP-infringements. Their products are so easily copied that their competitors could out-sell the so-called ' originals'  - this clearly shows that Ambu is producing better and cheaper products than LMA and consumers are willing to pay for them ! The damage is already done and LMA will find it hard to come back to the Markets, unless they lower their pricings and produce products that're better than Ambu (and don't forget Ambu too have their line of products)! If a Company's original product can't compete with 'fake', the 'fate' must be good or better isn't it (moreover, this is a life-saving products) ?  Look at iPod, many have tried to copy, so far none has come close and succeed - that is what I called a good product worth investing in!!!!!

I won't be surprised that sooner or later, in China or even India, there'll  be many copies of LMA's products not by Ambu. So another court case coming up........................................................................this time catching the culprits maybe harder! Cheers!

Finally, LMA legal action is starting to bite.....more comprehensive actions will take place when the San Diego courts hear LMA IP case against Ambu .  As it stands now, Ambu is already backing away from the US markets.  They know they are clearly and wilfully  infringing on LMA IP and trying very hard to avoid a head on collision in the US markets.  LMA is now going after Ambu to stop them from ceasing any manufacturing for their copy cat masks in China and Malaysia.  See SGX announcement.

As long as there is Christmas, Father Christmas AKA Santa Clause will be the favorite figure and like it or not, or believe it or not you've to deal with him (especially you've young kiddies around). Similarly or coincidentally you've to deal with the Invisible Hands in the Stock Market whether you like it or not, or believe it or not. Cheers and Santa Clause is coming to Town!
