Hi,
that means, the price still got time to move up slowly...so that once got approval, it might shoot a bit more?is that right?
This will take some time. There's going to be a meeting, voting for approval, then the CD will appear.

The business sector that Tech Oil & Gas is still on its accelerated growth, that would not be any obstacle to get more profitable new contract in the coming future!

I hope to think this way as well. But after checking their order book, there is still some uncertainty about whether the dividend level can sustain for another year. I view this as a bonus dividend. It is clear that the next quarter is going to be even better with at least 40 million delivered in July. But what after that is unsure. Starhub or others pays dividend from recurring income which is stable. So far TOG only secured 6 million project this year. I hope they can release more good news about new project to push the price higher as well. I've (unluckily) loaded some more warrants at 33 cents yesterday, so I'm in the same boat like you hoping for fortune from it.

It comes to 13% dividend since the share price is to low at around Sgd. 0.82 . . . . . . . . That is why it is more appropriate when the price reached Sgd. 1.50, so the dividend yield is calculated at 7%. Hence it is not the dividend yield too high but rather the share price is laggardly low and under value! Frankly, I buy some lots today |

13% percent yield is really a lot. Starhub only pay 20c per year. The yield is around 7 to 8 % . Even, if the share is at the price of $1, the yield is still 10%. |

They have completed projects awarded in previous years. There are still two big projects in the pipeline: 40 million and 16 million contracts from Vietsovpetro. The 40 million project is already delivered in July to report in the next quarter, and the other due soon. So next report is going to look even better, easily beats previous quarter and previous FY profits, and probably dividend payout again.
However, after the delivery, their order book will drop down to probably below 30 million from 82 million. Their only secured some 6 million project so far this year. If they don't get new projects that can be completed quickly, their next year reports will show nothing exciting.
Now, it's really a bet on their ability to secure more projects this year. Otherwise, the next reporting migh be the final good news they have.
Just my personal view.
This counter will hold good in bad times, since the div. yield will keep the downside limited. I am for it. Cheers.
I think it's a bit aggressive in paying out dividend this time. Last 9 months it's net profit is just above 11.6 million but the dividend will cost 14.5 million.
Checking the history, it seems to be generous in dividend. This time could be a bit too generous. I thought it should pay lesser and use some amount to buy back share more aggressively.
Well, I guess the timing is not perfect as the market turned south in the afternoon. Besides, people are not too sure whether this level of dividend can sustain. It is unlike Starhub or SGX that enjoys recurrent earnings, it needs to bid new projects to maintain profitable. I think it can.
