Seriously.....too late to start smartphone development now....really. And HTC is in big time trouble.
Why I say HTC in longcheer thread.......when everybody almost giveup smartphone because......too big, too much button. HTC in someway made it happened lor. And RIM is dead meat......
Then come Apple and Madonna......that it lor.
BTW, ask yourself.....which brand of phone would you buy :
a) Moto
b) Nokia
c) Samsung
d) iPhone
The biggest problem with Longcheer......they spend too much time with the China's 3G standard. A technology they (The Chinese) took from Siemens. Which Siemens happy give PRC for almost free......because they threw it out of the window.........
Field Trial results were known to be horrific. PRC kept saying good results......but wireless expert said otherwise.
And finally, wireless product.......first in the market launch $399.......one year later....$39. A very steep slope for recurring order lor....
Try to read more from the net.

Let's hear what DBS V says....
Longcheer Holdings: HOLD (Upgrade from SELL) S$0.445; Bloomberg: LHL SP
Hit by severe margin pressure;
Price Target : 12-Month S$ 0.49
By: TAN Ai Teng +65 6398 7967
· Core loss of RMB2.8m narrower than expected but still a sharp plunge
from RMB39m net profit in 2Q10/1Q11
· Gross margin collapsed to an expected 4.9% from 10.2% in 2Q10 and 9.7%
in 1Q11
· Recent sell-down has fully priced in the downside. Upgrade to HOLD but
outlook remains challenging
Sharp margin compression led to operating loss. Longcheer reported
bottomline of RMB15.6m, which was inflated by RMB18.6m of negative
goodwill. Excluding one-off gain, Longcheer would book RMB2.8m core
operating loss. Despite a 40% increase in phone shipment to 8.04m from 5.7m
in 2Q10, sales grew only 3% y-o-y. This was due to 30% ASP cut amid severe
price competition to clear inventory and avoid risk of obsolescence. As a
result, gross margin more than halved to 4.9% from 10.2% previously.
Expect weakness to last for next three quarters. Apart from needing time to
digest post-festive inventory buildup in India , more consumers are turning
to smartphones, which further weakens demand of Longcheer’s feature phones.
Longcheer has deployed more R&D resources to develop smartphone solutions
but this will take a year before contributing positively. Meanwhile,
working capital remains under control although cash level declined 44% in
the quarter.
Upgrade to Hold as downside is priced in but operation remains challenging.
The 26% w-o-w decline in share price has priced in the bad results. But,
the stock is at best a HOLD, as we believe Longcheer’s operating
environment remains challenging. We expect the company to still incur net
loss in FY11 with seasonally slower quarters ahead. Our TP of S$0.49 is
based on 1.3x P/BV.
Hahahaha...
U 4got sth too, Add RedBull... Especially b4 go 2 bed.

Wireless is a very volatile segment......one moment your product sell like black gold....the next moment, you are racing your 3G phone to 7-11 store.....
Play can, invest NO. Unless, you really really know this industries heartbeat.......don't wait for longcheer to tell you.......
My thought hor.......
