China October Retail Sales Rise a Record 18.1%
Chinese retail sales jumped 18.1 percent in October from a year earlier, the fastest pace on record, propelled by rising incomes, accelerating inflation and windfall gains from the surging stock market.
A spokesman for the National Bureau of Statistics, which released the data, said the increase was the largest since the government started issuing monthly sales data in 1999.
"This is another sign that the Chinese growth engine continues to hum along and it offers reassurance that China will remain a driver for global growth and compensate for a slowing in the U.S.," said David Cohen, an economist at Action Economics in Singapore.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected a 17.2 percent rise. .........
Stock prices have doubled this year, while figures released earlier on Wednesday showed annual property price inflation in 70 major cities quickened to 9.5 percent in October from 8.9 percent in September. ................
Retail sales in urban areas rose 18.6 percent last month with sales in the countryside, home to 56 percent of China's 1.3 billion people, up 17.1 percent. .......................

this morning, Time Watch is under heavy accumulation, with a Q of 900,000 shares waiting to buy at 28 cts. last done: 28.5 cts (+1.5 cts)
Their business is doing well. I just read its announcement on 7th November, sales growth of its existing stores went up by over 20%. They have also increased their outlet by over 10%.
If all goes well with Zijinshan, I suspect revenue growth can exceed 50%.

www.nextinsight.com.sg has an article on Time Watch. Its plant
operates 7 days a week and is able to assemble about 80,000 watches each month: 40,000 to 50,000 Tian Wangs and 30,000 OEMs.
Collecting dividend loh!!!!!!
THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!

THE CLOCK has been set: By 2012, Tian Wang will be the largest PRC watch brand.

Investing in a company is about investing in its management team. After reading the article, I can see that 董观明 will bring the company to the next level! Still a GEM!
Thanks Bullrun for posting the link!
Thanks BullRun, it has been quite a while since I read a chinese papers. Took me quite some time to understand the entire articles.
Hopefully this gets published in Straits Times and Business Times.
Regardless I have previously tried to find out as much as possible about Time Watch. One of the thing I figured was that Mr Tung is a very outstanding businessman. What he has acheived for the company must have been through a lot of hard work and more importantly is his shrewd business skill. He is the pillar of Time Watch.

XD date is on 9 Nov 2007.
Yep I just went through the report briefly. Nothing much further to add.
The watch looks pretty good from the report so I may consider using the 50% discount voucher and buy a watch from them when they open the new shop in Singapore.
However I have to comment that they need to work on their website as it is not projecting a very good image.
