In view of the highly run-up of most stocks, I think most analysts will not want to miss to call a strong buy for LMA. let's wait for our profit to grow astronomically.

As you can see, the great piece of news did not help lift the share price, which closed lower instead.

After the close of the SGX market on February 7, 2007 the Company announced that it had agreed to

acquire a further 50% of the equity of its Australian distributor, LMA PacMed Pty Limited, therefore

increasing its investment from 30% to 80% for a consideration of US$9.7 million. Based on the terms of the

agreement 60% of this consideration will be in cash and 40% in new LMA shares to be issued at S$0.88 per

share. This transaction is expected to have a positive (but not material) impact on earnings per share and a

negative impact on net asset value per share.

Taking account of these initiatives LMA remains very positive for the future growth of the business.

NEW SHARES AT $0.88 Per SHARE?? How is it going to affect share prices?

Actually, I expect at least two digits gain for year 2006, >10%, but it seems like not even 1 digit, it's 0.34% gain, *fainted*...

But again, it is good to enter soon, but I will choose after chinese new year. Then, we will be in-line, and hopefully we "huat" together ya~

LMA International - Seeks to expand
Nurwidya Abdul, 08 Feb 2007

LMA International will be improving its distribution channels in India, China and Russia. The launch of its new product, the LMA Supreme, surgical instruments for use in anesthesia and lung ventilation, is expected to boost sales in its ET tube market used for patients.

FY 2006 revenue was at US$90.6 mln, up 5%. Thanks to the sales of Laryngeal Masks, used in anesthesia, and the LMA StoneBreaker device, which fragments stones in the urinary tract.

Net profit was at US$22.5 mln, compared to last year's loss of US$2.5 mln. This is after collecting charges from LMA Urology's non-recurring charges and non-cash stock compensation.

Its business generated US$21.5 mln in cash from operations, compared to US$17 mln last year.

It said that it will not be paying out dividends.

LMA also mentioned yesterday that it will buy 50% equity in LMA PacMed worth US$9.7 mln, which will increase its investment in it from 30% to 80%. It expects this purchase to have a positive impact on its earnings per share, but a decline on net asset value per share.

Analysts surveyed by Reuters have on average an 'outperform' call on its stock with a price target of S$1.03, compared to its last traded price of S$0.56.

Thanks a lot ipunter! Appreciate your help. The net income excluding compensation stock charge etc is about US$24million. Just very slightly worse than 2005. Although nothing to smile about, its nothing to cry about too.

Dear Humulas..

Your practice is okay for you, cos it's your unique style...  :)

But this style would not be suitable for those others who are less well off financially.

Dear iPunter,

You are right, that is common good theory. My unique theory is just do it "SMARTLY 'SUKA-SUKA'", as simple as that.

Dear Hulumas...

To be trading specific stocks, one has to study the technicals, ie look at the their charts. Then when one comes across an "attracive-looking" stock, one can then follow it's progress and take a bet on it according to one's experienced-honed judgement.

Then, once one has entered a counter, one must, as a matter of strategy as well as defensive protection, immediately assume that one's judgement is wrong. Only in this way can one regard it as a trading methodology.

Of course, if one desires to be a long-term investor right from the start, one would not bother with such "frivolities".

Dear iPunter,

Have you ever noticed? It is so common that all the suggestions always either NOT TO BUY or NOT TO SELL this and that, and never BUY this SELL that.

Yes, I agree with Novena_33 ...

that it is not a matter of "dare" or "guts" alone. It is a matter of risk management.

The stock market is a neutral animal and can be regarded as anything by different people.

One can regard it as a casino... or one can also regard it as a risky place to play with one's hard-earned money. To those who can afford to bet and don't mind losing, they can regard it as a casino and they may have big winnings.

But for the average investor, it must be regarded as a dangerous place which must be approached carefully with a sound money-management ( = risk-management) methodology to play it in a systematic manner. This latter will ensure unaffordable big losses are avoided.
