Haha, good question. Looking at the prospects, I would like to take up the offer, but unfortunately, I do not have enough money and am planning to sell the rights to pay off some borrowings, mostly for my Aqua Terra shares. But I am positive on this company.

Cheers

Hi, Mr Terencefok

I noticed that you have 1.5 million shares in Jasper.  That means you will have to pay out $60K if you want to take up all the rights.  Is it worthwhile to invest so much on this particular company?

Newbie here. Hope you will enlighten me.

Thanks.

Morton Bay Holdings is the largest shareholder, with over 50%, but looking at the issue price, which is way above current book value, if the rights are subscribed, the overall book value for each share will increase (weighted average cost effect). All in all, I feel that this is just the beginning of Ashmore's power, Co. is raising much more than their borrowings amount, so can look forward to more acquisitions.

Cheers

...having said that tho. rights then consol is a standard mtd used by companies when they intend to start raising awareness and ramp up the px of their stock. the idea of the consolidation is to increase the share px so that analysts and institutional managers will notice it and start to recommend it/trade it. classic part of how a value stock becomes a growth stock.

if it takes off, of course. quite a few do fizzle out along the way. altho for 2c, may be worth a gamble. very heavy selling pressure on this baby tho; that's partly why i'm not in it. (note: unlike terence i'm not a value investor tho.)

rights issue is up to a company to decide what px they want to fix it as. it may not necessarily increase the px of the current shares, since rights will essentially dilute the float. 2 for 1 rights, then a consol of 25:1. so if we assume all rights are converted to mother share, then the approx value of the stock (taking the current 0.02 px) will be abt 16-17c.

if abt 50% of rights converted to mother share (most ppl wld opt to sell the rights since it's worth more than mother share--likely the key shareholders' idea, hence the pricing of rights above stock value), then stock would be worth ~8c post consol.

fair gauge would be the mean between the two: so abt 12c. (note your number of shares will lessen as well, so it's not exactly a jump in px.).

assuming market conditions remain ok.

maniam, may be good to find out how much % is owned by the top 20 shareholders. it's not the total float that matters, it's the free float.

caveat emptor; not vested.

Now on the Norway OTC Market, people are all buying very high for Neptune Marine. But a pity no one is selling. Can check out from here: http://norma.netfonds.no/ppaper.php?paper=NEPT.OTC

All I can say is, the rights issue benefits me as I need some money now, so I can sell my rights, but fundamentals wise, the company is ok now with a proper business. No more worries at last.

Jasper has completed the acquisition of Neptune Marine. It now is proposing a rights issue of 2 new shares for every existing share at $0.02 each. Thereafter, it intends to consolidate every 25 shares into 1 new share. Hot from the press.

This coy suppose to disappear from SGX...formerly know as ECON INT...but since it cannot dies we bet it will live good...so have vested a little here,,,let see how it fare...but dont commit so much here unless u like your $ to go old here...suggest to buy up the counter when it turn around or if there is play..insist of putting $ here...make $ elsewhere first..

Given that each drilling vessel has a 3-4 year contract with day rates of US$312K+/day. This works out to be around US$230 Million/year.

At 50% margins (based on peer comparison i.e. Ezra which leases out deep sea support vessals has a margin of 55%), We are talking about US$113.9Mil of profits per year. Divide that by 7,829M shares, EPS is US$1.5cts/share or S$ 2cts/share.

At current price of 2.5cts, Jasper shares is trading at a forward PE of 1.25 which is freaking low. If we use 15 x PE as a guide, Jasper should be trading at 30cts/share.

I'm heavily vested with 9 million shares at avg cost of 2.3cts. I'm willing to wait 2 -5 years for Jasper to hit 30cts which means my initial investement of $200K will become S$2.7 Million.

you'll be hearing from me again in 2 to 5 years time....

Cheers.
