Enjoy the ride! Just a word of cautious: What have really change on its fundamental? Other than asking its shareholders for $$ for "preemptive" which reduces its value per share and increase its cash reserve to ~$6b, why they need so much $$ if they're confident of the future? Dun forget its 4Q08 profit drop 88% worst than many have expected. Its like US gov now, just print share for sales. Haha, dun give me a bad post, my opinion only.

my point is they, DBS Vickers can't and won't issue a sell call. cheers to those invested anyway.

oinkoink1999 , They said they will announce later on the payment date of dividend. No hurry right since those rights shares also entitled this FY08 dividend.

gregorsamsa, yes, DBS, JPM, ML (aka BoA) are joint-underwriters. Big deal

Off-load @2.75 x 15.  Good luck for those who are still holding.

Kensonic77      ( Date: 11-Feb-2009 14:16) Posted:

Luckily I didn't sell at super good price.  Now I am selling at 2.75 today or tomorrow.

anfield_76      ( Date: 10-Feb-2009 10:33) Posted:

wouldn't super good be subjective? if a buyer had bought his shares at $4 or even $3, then the price of $2.50 is not considered super good. but if one had bought it at a low of $2.36, then $2.50 is a return of about 6%. which is still not considered super good.

just using an example:

bought 4 lots at $3 = $12000

2 lots of Rights Issued at 1.30 = $2600

total = 6 lots at $14600

average = $2.43 per share

if sell now, this person make a loss of $0.50 per share. which is a total loss of ($2000)

however, if wait till ex-date the price need to dip until below $2.10 or less then then one will make a loss of more than $2000. just a thought...

DBSV upgrade to BUY, extracted from report below:

From strength to strength
Capitaland’s rights issue has strengthened balance sheet and
financial flexibility. As one of the lowest geared groups in the
region and with strong management track record, it is well
positioned to seize new opportunities in this cycle. With the
additional cash capacity, the group’s gearing level should
remain low at 0.5-0.55x, even after taking into account other
potential funding requirements. We are raising our call to Buy
on removal of equity overhang concerns and further accretion
in value once it redeploys its cash. Our pre-rights TP of $3.51
offers significant upside from here.

Upgrade to Buy. We believe share price should react positively
to the removal of the equity overhang concern. Further upside in
valuation can be derived from its stronger balance sheet and
deployment of cash into new opportunities. Our revised pre-rights
target price of $3.51 ($2.56 post rights) is based on a narrower 50%
discount to pre and post rights RNAV of $7.03 and $5.13
respectively.

it all depends. For DBS, after ex rights, the price actually shot up a short while (more than the px b4 rights), and u earn much more if u sell then cos u can trade ur rights too..  but it dropped real fast after..

hard to predict.. anyway all depends on u
