Good chance that tomorrow, it will breach the .045 wall for good; and this will be the lower resistance level.

Hi Pandan,

Thank for yr advice and I believe yr explanation is correct.

I also got some explanation from another source (from Shareowl) and I quote

"Deemed interest is an indirect interest e.g. shares owned not directly by him but by a company or individual related to him e.g. spouse, parent, sibiling or brother or sister in law.

If director owns 51% of company D which owns 6% of the listed company L in question, he has a deemed interest of 6% of L. Although 51% x 6% = 3.06%, we do not use this figure. Whether he holds 51% or 100% of D, he is deemed to have a deemed interest of 6% in L."

deem interest is indirectly owned through another account like investment entity, trust account, company account, usually co-own with other individuals.

hope this is 100% correct definition.

Hi All,

I am a new member and find this forum interesting. Lots to learn from fellow members.

It is always encoraging to know some directors are increase their shares when we consider investing in a particular counter.

Appreciate fellow member to enligthen me why it's Chairman; Dr.Vincent Tan Kim Yong who is the major share holder is diluting his stake from 70.64% to 68.19% (selling 193,000,000  shares on 28 May 07) and further down to 66.72% (selling another 115,100,000  shares on 1 Jun 07).

He has now 5,380,452,500 shares = 68.19% as direct interest and has 1,687,750 shares = 0.02% as deem interest. What is the meaning of "deem interest" in his stake in the company?

... appreciate expert advise, thanks!
