godpa, you read your goddaughter very well. hehe. yea, i'm constrained in work since have to be professional and all that. plus solo room too. the silence can be insane sometimes. against my nature really.

st engg, no worries. earnings FYE sometime this month. will go up before that. wait for a nice fat dividend...expect sideways or slight dip for these few days tho. SPC and St engg, long term, def no worries one. even if drop, the divvy you collect over the years will more than make up for it.

 

hi Geojam,  i think it may not so good idea to visit india in August leh... (of cos it also depends which state you are going)... I remembered once I went around that time (I was then in Andrah Pradesh) the temp was about 45C and the car I was travelling in was so hot that I cannot touch the door handle... you can fried an egg on the bonnet....  but I think your gd bunnie maybe able to advise you better...

GD(elf),i can understand that some job are sensitive.I got a feeling that when at work u are not so hyperactive.This cyber space is like a release energy for u.That is how i read it anyway.Maybe wrong.

Yeah,never worry about GIC or Temasek type shares like SPC or ST Engg,they will come back up after a while.As long as the Govt.stays good as they are now.Just my tot.

hi victorian, thanks for confirming my suspicions. believe the market will stay mixed from now on til end of earnings season. thereaft a dip likely.

blue chips. sigh. i missed a lot of them (notably, semb corp), but it's ok. no point rushing after missed boats. 

actually, correct me if i'm wrong, but markets were actually headed down abt 3rd week jan already, then there was a double up push 'cos of MM lee's words and better-than-expected US data, which lead to the good earning reports of the blues here?

ie, sustained on momentum rather than genuine growth?

godpa. like what kilroy and myself said, SPC will likely stay rangebound, for some reason it can't seem to break 4.5. but you're in it long term, so no worries. sit and collect the divvy. ..and bring your goddaughters for holidays! come visit us in august. :P 

job-wise you are close, but forgive me, i can't say anything more. National Security Comes First. haha. not always followed wherever i go lah. sometimes it's ppl, sometimes it's electronic. sometimes i'm free. depends.

My portfolio only have ST Engg and SPC."safer" share to keep and monitor,since i am not around.And good for divvy.

godpa, to answer your few qn and survey, i think im about 7 for risk taking, since i am more into contra playing. somtimes for the adrenaline and sometimes for quick kopi $. but i do keep some for divvys purpose. SPC totally not vested 'coz my poor TA skills tell me it is still in a general downtrend, so any rebound right now may not be sustainable. i don't really study this counter unlike Giant, so on and off i will take a look at it and at the comments for this thread.



the other qn about job... hmm... can't reveal too much but yes, i used to travel quite often to India (now on off depends if they need me there). at least 3 times a year, besides other biz trips. Coz of work, i been around much, and Vietnam has been on my interest list since 2 yrs ago. nowadays more hype 'coz of our MM's and other PAP's attention. personally, outside SEA, we should watch india instead of china. china overbuzzed and india is still heating up. ppl looking for expat positions, look into india instead of china. i am, for one.



btw, i am in ppl job, but, not in sales :)

Thanks everybody for participating,i actually got mix signals,but i conclude that ppl will risk when need be or depending on circumstance.

My aim was to see any corelation between sucessful investor and risk takers.In a way i do see,like sporegal is 7,my GD(elf) and so on....
