All constructive contributions are welcome.  There is plenty to be gained from learning from the TA/FA experts.  I know you don't do FA but from your years of experience in trading do you think on fundamental basis BIG will be able to stay above water even if the market crashes?  Thank you.

Subject: Press Release on BioMatrix
Dear Investors,

Please receive a press release that was issued this afternoon.

Included in this release is the highlights of the implantation of BioMatrix at this year?s Singapore Live, an international cardiovascular conference that was held from 7-9 March 2008.

We wish to also refer to a report published by the Singapore Straits Times on 7 March that reported that restenosis rate of DES was 30% and regret that the information in inaccurate.  From clinical studies of BioMatrix, we have reported a restenosis rate of 3.9%.  The average restenosis rate of other DES is around 10%. BioMatrix which utilizes a biodegradable polymer also reported zero incidence of late stent thrombosis that was observed in first-generation DES that utilize permanent polymer as the drug-delivery mechanism.

In this report, the drug-eluting balloon was also introduced.  This was also introduced during the Singapore Live.  In the words of some leading cardiologists whom we spoke to, they anticipate that this technique of ballooning is not effective as the duration of the drug-elution is not controlled over time but is released during an instant burst (up to 1 minute only).  As a result, they consider that drug-eluting stent is still the more effective option for patients.

This is for your information.

Regards,

 LOH Chee Mun, Eric

Senior Vice President

Advise to Bro yes888,

Do read up this thread before u start as there are alot of info and of cos some noise made.... It's still up to u to think wat is info and wat is noise.... ( maybe u thinking i am making some noise) ha....

Anyway.... two gang here....... one lead by Bro bengster who support BIG all the way and gives a strong call on buying now....

another not lead but once he start commenting,.... not many bros here like him to says about BIG.

Make ur own decision and don't start if u don't have a strong heart..

I am still training my heart to be strong to go in this but looking at DOW JONE now... really think at least a 4 cts gain tomorrow....

Some latest news:

Abbott Receives CE Mark for Smaller-Size XIENCE(TM) V Drug Eluting Stent
Tuesday March 11, 2:00 am ET

New 2.25 mm Diameter Stent Now Available in Europe, Asia and Latin America

ABBOTT PARK, Ill., March 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Abbott (NYSE: ABT - News) announced today that it has received CE Mark (Conformite Europeene) approval for a 2.25 mm version of its XIENCE(TM) V Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent System, offering physicians a smaller stent based upon the proven efficacy, positive safety results and excellent deliverability of XIENCE V. The addition of the 2.25 mm stent to the XIENCE V portfolio gives physicians access to a wider range of stent sizes for treating a variety of patient types
"Lesions in small vessels tend to be more complex and challenging to treat, so it's important to have a drug eluting stent with proven clinical benefits that can be easily delivered to the diseased area of the vessel," said Charles Simonton, M.D., FACC, FSCAI, divisional vice president, Medical Affairs and chief medical officer, Abbott Vascular. "With XIENCE V 2.25 mm, physicians now have access to a smaller stent that combines these critical attributes with the positive safety outcomes we have seen with XIENCE V. These outcomes include low rates of reintervention in the diseased vessel, low rates of heart attack and death, and low rates of vessel renarrowing following treatment."

The 2.25 mm version of the XIENCE V stent will be launched immediately in the majority of European markets and select countries in Asia and Latin America. In addition to the 2.25 mm stent, XIENCE V is available in stent diameters of 2.5 mm, 2.75 mm, 3.0 mm, 3.5 mm and 4.0 mm for lesions 28 mm or shorter.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) occurs when arteries become narrow due to plaque buildup, restricting blood flow to the heart. Approximately 30 to 40 percent of CAD lesions occur in vessels equal to or less than 2.5 mm in diameter.

The last time i strongly urged formers to buy was around 25/10/2007. It shot up to almost $1. After CE it hit a high of $1.10. Easily a 50% surge. If you believe in my fundamental analysis all these while, it is not that this company is a lousy company. Too many investors don't understand the true potential of this company, too many "lousy" short term punters. I conclude this company will be a true global DES powerhouse. Over the next few months i think investors can see BIG's real potential even better. By then it will  be too late to get it and most likely it will cost you twice the current price to buy. Current price is ridiciously low.

Arbitrager, thanks for your warning to short-term traders, dun let them become cannon fodder for shortists.

Bengster, no need you to say this is a great price to get vested for the long-term, it's so obvious!

Liquidating my bond funds... hopefully the price remains at this level or lower as what Arbitrager says.

Mua Ha Ha!!

Well like i mentioned eariler.. this stock is actively traded by short-term traders.. no interest from long term BBs. seems like traders are getting sick of this counter.. well fret not.. this counter is still well-liked by retails.. I am sure we have quite a handful of ardent supporters here.

good luck for those vested.. more bargain hunting for those who want to hold BIG in the coming days.

this counter is died.. how to cheong when no insti interest?? and the news of emloyee share option is no good news at all... its dilutive by nature and its definitely not good news for existing shareholders.. lesser EPS and anyway BIG is not profitable yet..

I dun think it will stay above 80c
