This is so  boring, why never cheong like mad @opening? You all never buy enough lah.

I would say the most important 'fundamental' is the trend (of the stock or the market)...
Most people do not agree with, or ignore the concept of trend, preferring to
whole-heartedly trust fundamentals like good managements, good prospects, etc...
But trend is the real 'fundamantal'. All profits or losses by stock players
are the result of trend. But nobody can predict a stock's trend.
A trend can only be observed as it unfolds...

Dear all, if you all were to name out one favorite counters of all. Any suggestions ? I would say F & N !
ipunter, then a sideway trend tells of what kind of fundamentals? With specific reference to wilmar if i may quote one.

Trend itself is a fundamental...

wah you sound like somebody i know.... he said that fundamentals are useless, when market wants to go up, all the bad news will be useless, market will still go up.... similarly, if market wants to go down all the good news in the world cannot bring the market up.....

One can tackle the market with as much academic scrutiny as one desires or is capable of...
But all will be rather pointless for the purpose of predicting the market's next move,
whether in the short term or medium term... for that matter, even the long term.
What is worth doing is to bet on the outcome and then hold out as long as the bet
is still good. Which means to say, as long as one is right about the direction
after placing one's bet, one can continue to hold (let the profits run). But
since retracements and rebounds can be of large magnitude, even as
much as 100%, one should liquidate one's position/s  before that
point is reached (to preserve one's principal). As an illustration, if
one has been right in entering a short for Capitaland when it was
at 4.20 just  a mere few montha ago, one would have been riding
on huge profit till today (2.60), and may reap even more in the
                                                                                                      weeks ahead...

How on earth a stock chart can show what is going to happen
is beyond the comprehension of even the most intelligent ,
rational and profitable stock bettors in the world.
And when it come to market trend, so-called
                                    fundamentals are largely irrelevant...

Technical chart shows that Dow will hit 9700... And people say that Technical is always stronger than fundamental... Any experts can comment on this ?
