Hi narmag, looks like we are in the same boat, vested some time aga at 0.55. I have picked them up and keep under pillow. I have faith to his counter and I am aiming the mid-term return also... To me, no 80c no sell!  Smiley

Hi narmag, welcome to SJ! Yes, I'm vested in Foreland. Holding on to quite a fair bit. I don't have any worries about this counter. It's a mid-term investment for me. My suggestion is that you pick up this counter, if possible. There is no reason why it wouldn't move up in stride.

Hi all .. new here.. been reading some of the threads and found it very interesting. Quite a gathering of nice people here.  Seems Rayphua is quite an expert at this..

May i impose on you Ray .. are you vested in Foreland ?  I have some at 0.535 and it seems to be going down so wondering if i should let go.  Noticed you had mentioned that it was expected to be a .80 cents but near tern around 0.55??  does this still hold.?

Again ... excuse my imposition... and thanks.

Agatha, these days investors are getting jittery.  If you noticed, the market in the last week has not taken any decisive moves up or down.  Momentums die quickly, and as such, I'm out quickly as well.

China has again decided to cool the market off, and thus cooling the STI along with it.  Expect volumes to be low as we're having a break tomorrow.

Agatha, I left the train already.  I think some others may still be in.

Techcomp had a solid run the last few days and gapped up today.  Out at 0.49, nice 13% gain.

Will update any nice breakouts, if any.

In a midnight announcement through the the official Xinhua news agency, China's Ministry of Finance said stock trading stamp duty has been raised to 0.3 percent starting on Wednesday from the current 0.1 percent.

Looks like today China market will be our main focus... hope it will stay healthy...

Hi Ray, it's too early to judge, i'll probably hold on and watch the movements closely, as i don't need the cash. vested in Hiap Hoe and Tiong Woon plus a few others. went in based on technicals, but did briefly readup on the fundamentals.

here's to an exciting day tomorrow.

So much indecision in the dow...now i see in move from negative, to positive, to negative to positive...  It'll be a reflection of tomorrow's market as well.

Ken, good luck with Labroy. :)

Eellee, good to hear you made some $ for China Powerpl. :)  Thanks for those words.  I appreciate it.

Sojourner, welcome!  Sorry, didn't quite get you, are you saying that you've made a few buys, and they went southwards?  I suppose it depends a lot on what sort of an investor you are, short, mid-term, or long term, amongst other things.  Do you have holding power?  Is there an opportunity cost if you buy and hold this counter?  What is the upside, or the downside; risk-rewards assessments?

Hi Dj_insider, eellee and ray, thanks for all your kind words. I just hope that my next stock pick will be a good one.

One thing I learn is not to be too impulsive next time, and do a bit more homework. Going to the library tomorow! And, also, to read more posts from ray ;) before deciding on my actions.

hi ray and all, looks like i stumbled onto a mini cult following here :)

am new to the market, and made a few buys this week. i went in thinking the technicals were right, but on hindsight can be certain. should i continue to hold and wait to break even before selling, or hold onto the counters based on fundamentals. any general advise is appreciated. for those who first went into the stock market, what did you learn from the first few weeks, and how did you change your strategy subsequently? (other than gleaning from the experts in this thread :) )

p.s. i've not mentioned any of my holdings as i'm seeking general advise.
