Good research

Dun worry about this counter. The selldown is temporary, looking at the purchase volumes taking place consistently (provided if you are a firm believer that this is an idication).

Other points to note:

China, India and the rest of the world is aggresively looking for mining resources, esp. coal and iron ore - including acquisitions. The price surges on these two resources are evident everywhere.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=ao2kGIYve358

OCBC posts a sell. (I see it as a desperation to buy into this counter cheap). Others a posting a buy. One man's meat is another man's poison - hence the differing prce views.
Yes, DBS's target price is $3.35 on 17-23 Feb 2010, BoA Merril Lynch's target is $2.8. Give it time, it'll go up when COAL SPOT prices stablise or go up. The demand is clearly there, so it is no surprise it'd go up.

Besides, it's coal that we are taking about - an important resource to support industrial production and residential consumption - a staple must for sustainability. Not counters that are dependent on service demand. Why do you think the Singapore government has set up a coal storage facility in Singapore?

One other thing to take note of is, the commodity exchange index on the Singapore Stock Exchange is going to launch in Q1 2010 - a positive indicator for fuel-based commodities - including coal.

Lastly, dividend-wise, it's good. So no qualms about it.
