rickytan,

Yeah, bot sometime ago when the limit for shares was higher.

Now, govt set new rules.......no good anymore. Previously, we can also withdraw profits from share investment...less the 2.5% that we would have received if we left the funds in CPF. Those were the good old days.

Hi shplayer, pardon my asking but can you elaborate why you are not able to invest again if you sell the share since it was bought at $2 ?  Or is it because you bought it long time back whereby there is no control on the amount/limit one can use CPF  to buy shares ?  Thank you :)

geojam,

Yes, with wife's CPF funds.......cost at about $2.00......collected many divvies.....but slow in cap appreciation.

Didn't sell cos exceeded CPF limit on share investment...so if sell, cannot use funds to reinvest. Anyway, divvy is always more than the miserable 2.5% from CPF.

However, from time to time, I do punt on this stock...short term punts ...1 - 8 wks hold.

singaporegal SIFU,

Yes, you were spot on about STE.

There lies the difference between a SIFU and a novice.

Still got alot to learn to differentiate the finer point of reading TA charts.

yes i think not so professional of me to introduced u to to my nephew.

try the asx website, then maybe if u have a broker see whether he or she can help.

As far as i know, spore broking firms have connection with aussies broking firms.

Like Kim eng have connection to Patterson Ord minnett in australia.

Cheers and have a try.Come back to me if u encounter problem.

U are lucky as ur costs less than S$1.Me bot 30 lots at 4.40.

Cheers

geojam,

Tks

But....didn't quite understand your statement.....your nephew not professional or not so professional of you to refer me to your nephew?

As for SPC, I am also vested...since early 2004. My cost, less divvy received so far is <$1.00. But, I have divested some of my holdings and kept only 10 lots....just as a hedge incase the outcome of Oyang is very positive. Also, maintaining SPC in my portfolio keeps me monitoring this counter.......cos I still think it has potential....albeit, may have to 'tan gugu'.

Hi shplayer

Me too.I rely on divvy for offset my margin loan interest.Otherwise die, die. here margin loan interest is like 10%pa.

have to be careful otherwise house will go too.

Maybe u can go to www.asx.com.au and get the list of official  sharebrokers in australia and email them.Have a start from there.

I do not like it,but u can find my Kim Eng broker which is also my nephew.but i think not so professional.

But i still have faith in SPC.So Giant,we are in together.

cheers

geojam,

your earlier post on cap gain or divvy?  well, for me I take both factors into account......if capital gains don't work out (you know, market fickleness) then always got divvy to fall back on...Spore kiasuness lah.

on Woodside or SPC.....aiyah, SPC no fight lah....its upstream business still not well developed....but they are working on it.

On investment in ASX, sorry, not sure how to go about it....appreciate advice how to go about this; as I've got some (not much) A$ sitting collecting megre 5% interest.
