Its normal to have a rebound after a long session of downtrend.

amazing, CO down SPC up. It hits one of our sifu's +ve comments. It balls down to refinery processes and cost per br earning. Last  Oct the oil barrel earning was reduced fr $9-$5 for SPC. Then CO was 85. and SPC px at 8.45. That earning reduction shed SPC fr 8.80 fr previous day.

See further easing of CO will lift SPC in weeks to come loh.

An analyst's job is to create a solid academic piece of report which is in demand by others...

After which his job is done and he is paid handsomely.

Then the analyst will himself play the market, which may often not pay him too handsomely... hehehe... Smiley

Analysis in some way is not quite right....

Lower CO prices = higher refinery margin for SPC 's refinery segment, which is a significant part of their whole business. They own half of Spore Refining Company. Slight increase in the refinery margin (GRM) will translate to a big amount of earnings for them , similarly, higher cost of CO will increase their operating cost.

So if market percieves the other way round, but if financial reports from SPC shows earnings, I hope it would push the price up where it belongs ?

But SPC earnings also tagged to US $ rate to Sing $ , thus it'll need stronger US $ and coupled with a higher refinery margin to have higher chance of earning profit, of course we still have other factors like demand and supply.

Just my Newbie thoughts...

Yesterday CO dropped US$5.00. Tonight CO dropped another US$4.00. If go on like that, soon CO will be going for FREE! I read somewhere, can't remember where that some country the cost of extracting CO from the oil field is like $70-80. So my guess is that CO be stablised above US$90.

lately the CO price dropping fr rocketing high, mainly owing to demand and supply.

As hinded by Opec members, they will uphold the CO px staying around 100. Next day of last Sep's meeting, they quietly reduce the out by 500b.

ha ha, if CO drops below 90 this few days, the trend showing is, Opec members no need meeting again to decide to cut CO output liao. Tele Conferencing will make thing happening, ie die die they want to see 100.

all the greedy burgers.

Now it really depends on CO price. See if it breaks below $90.

Seems like have to wait for CO to rebound to $110 for these 2 brothers to rebound, probably at least 1-2 months down the road...

STI n HSI recovering now, without much distinct reason avail on website n BT, less Barclay now is in talk with Lehman to buy over the assets.

As for SPC, his brother is KepCorp. Now, top losers hv gain ground but less these 2 brothers stay side by side. Just note, previously analysts claimed that KC decline was due to less demand of CO and CO price dropped over 30% fr high.

But u still need to observe further, don't fix the price yourself. Home work again loh. Cheers.

may not so. think, must look // with STI, HSI, EU and finally tonite DJ response loh. STI now still hovering around -50 odds pts, not optimistic.

mainly is US stock market, uncertainty and lack of confidence determine the faith of DJ, since yesterday DJ's earthquake.
