My gard! You said having no transaction is being not active! ? You must be jokin' ! Indeed, on the contrary... "Having no position is also a position"... And that's what I call being active... and proactive too... Because by doing so (having no position) but with an active view of your own, you are indeed actively and intelligently participating in the market itself...

you can if you already hold the stock, meaning the stock is already in your CDP account.
If it is still in the T+3 period, you will need to sell via POEMS since its a contra trade.

Hi Seniors,
I bought KepLand with POEMS. If something happen, Can I sell it with Lim & Tan? My question may be crazy.
Thanks in advance.

you like bear?
how much have u earned this time?
I lost almost 40k-50k.
maybe the coming week will rebounce!

yes. yes.. this is what i agree on u. if u think this stock will drop further . but with its strong FA, it will not die and will be recovered. why dun u just cut now and buy back later. well, those people who dunno how to cut loss and buy back later, die very very pain. well, i was one of them . i learnt my lesson for dunno how to cut loss but just average down. but how much we need to average down and how long we can wait for it to back to our entry price? well, think again and again. also, must understand. what u going to expect for the overall market is going to be? STI 4000? STI 3500? well.....if u think STI 3500 and STI 4000 is coming SOON, ok hold tight ur stock. and "dun miss the boat" now, just jump in to buy. for me, my 1 cent woman six sense, what i see is STI 2400 or even lower. so i myself dun buy now. well, i just share what is in my mind. different people. different opinion.
caveat emptor.

I am very much agreed with this statement with Livermore and Kellychang.
I don't keep any stocks for short-term except CapitaMall which I bought at price of 1.45, 1.55 , 1.8 and recently 1.93 for long term purpose on dividend and it's growth. Those price that I bought at 1.45, 1.55 were during the year 2009.
For those that I targeted on short-term, If I got the signals and see the reversal trend, I would sell off and incurred losses to wait for another confirmation. Every signals will have confirmation whether it is low or high reliability depends also on the global direction as I always mentioned, one of the important parameters even with TA. When you sold off and bought even at a lower price, you will gain the spread to cover back the losses when sold off at particular price. One example from me to you guys is Straits Asia. I bought recently when the price was at 2.13 and saw the reversal trend, sold off at 2.09. Bought it back again at 2.03 and sold it off at 2.07 with only losses on broker commission to ride on the mini-Ewave.
I believe even the hedge fund will do this when entered at not a right time, will do a loss at certain price and wait sideline to come in at the right price. Some might take opportunities to do short-selling but I am not the person who will short-selling, unless probably if I am a full time trader without any choices? :)

Buy @
2.03 and sold @
2.07 ?
My question is what kind of risk-talking is this?
You risk your money in the stock market just to make .4c?
Certainly doesn't make any sense to me...
I would have thought one should aim for a big profit target before one even enters a trade...

if u want to buy this baby, first enter price is 3.25 +-
hope 3.25+- can hold.
but during such a volatile market, i think we may see 2.70?
possible?
but anyway 2.70 is always better than 3.25...

Actually on my chart software, once break support - sell. So during minor corrections, support not broken. Once major correction starts, support is broken. You may not sell at the highest point but it won't be too far away from it. I don't have trailing stops and depend on chart software. You set a conservative trailing stop and it may trigger and then stock resume uptrend
iPunter ( Date: 09-May-2010 19:32) Posted:
I agree with you on selling at below your support as a defence against loss. But I find it senseless to ride from 2.80 to 3.50 (or higher) without at least a trailing stop... Let's say you spend 1 year waiting for the stock to climb to 4.00 and then from there it falls back to below 2.80 (perhaps only hypothetic from your p.o.v)... Don't you think you have lost out, not only in terms of cash, but also the time... I will definitely consider such action (or in this example, non action) irresponsible, to put it bluntest...
Livermore ( Date: 09-May-2010 15:02) Posted:
Ipunter, do you read and understand clearly what I write? I write in very clear and simple terms. I said if you bought at $2.80 and sold at $3.53 when market crashed. you would still make money. Please refer to Keppeland chart at around $2.80. During that time the stock was sideways for some time. On my chart it broke through a tight squeeze at $2.82. If you use resistance then $2.88 was also broken. The best way to sell is when stock breaks through the support. You may not sell at the highest price but it won't be far off. This is much better than selling too early and see the stock going up and up.
After breaking support and the stock resumes its uptrend, you buy back but you need to see the chart carefully. Right now I would say don't just look at your individual stock chart as the Dow still leads the way. Use both your stock and Dow as reference to confirm resumption of uptrend.
