Kottayam , Aug 30
Spot rubber declined on Wednesday. A sharp fall in Bangkok spot by Rs 3.67 to Rs 93.62 (Rs 97.29) a kg for RSS 3 hammered the domestic prices amidst sustained buyer resistance. Major manufactures continued to procure sheet rubber at lower levels.
Kottayam , Aug. 24
Buyer resistance kept spot rubber subdued on Thursday. The prices declined as buyers rewrote the quotations to lower levels as weather turned more favourable for production.
Kottayam , Aug 22
Spot rubber prices continued to rule steady on Tuesday. According to dealers, the market activities were in an extremely low pace lacking quantity buyers or sellers in the main trading centres.
Kottayam , Aug 17
Declining overseas markets, especially TOCOM, hammered the rubber prices on Thursday. Sheet rubber dipped to Rs 92.50 against Rs 93 a kg at Kottayam. But the grade was quoted better by 50 paise to Rs 93 a kg at Kochi possibly on covering purchases for immediate delivery.
Events that may affect its operations:
- The sustainability of NR prices at current levels, which could impact on sales.
- The weather conditions that could impact on production.
- The strength of the Euro which has a direct impact on operating costs and profitability.
- The stability of the operating cost which could be adversely affected by any further increases in energy prices and the implementation of new fiscal measures by the African states, where the subsidiaries are based.
- The political situation in Ivory Coast.
Yes, Nostra, very insightful observation.
GMG share price mrrored quite closely with crude oil prices. Good prospect for this counter if we believe that oil prices will hit US$80 and above. In the short term, the chart does not seem very good. It may break 10 cents but I reckon that will a good price to go in and bargain hunt after a strong base has been established. Put it on the radar screen now.
Natural rubber (NR) prices have been falling for > 1 week. Oil prices have been falling. Synthetic rubber (SR) , made from oil, has also seen its prices falling. Its competitor, NR, is following suit as falling prices will cause some customers to switch to SR.
any reasons why the share price is on downward trend? Thanks.
