Hi ck2236, I left the train before the holiday too... yet today went up...
but at least we still make some $$$ for coffee, Thanks to ray~!!!!

More on Dow: Moving as expected. Northwards. I suppose I should wait till it closes before providing an opinion, but I'm quite sure it would remain this way throughout the night. One thing to wait on the close is the volume.
Let's have a good day tomorrow. Good luck to everyone on the counters you're vested in. Sleepy already. Too many late nights. :)
as per market's expectations.
it still hasnt started reporting profits yet from the time it commenced trading.
recent uptrend was because of final recognition of product license in USA and plus
one of its warrants is about to expire so Warrant holder was playing around with volume bringing
it to close to its exercise price of 1.15 .
its product biodegradable stent has lots of promise (so did all the dot com companies in 2000)
but u need to remember , 1 suit filed against a medical company and its the time when all
the Naked short guys come out.
I like the comment about buying and leaving the counters alone :) Staying tuned on the Dow's performance.
Can anyone comment on Biosensors and Longcheer, from an FA perspective?
Thank you Ray... :)
Anyway I don't have much time for manual stuff now...
I noticed if I buy and leave the counters alone, the money just come to me...
and if I watch them the whole day, it becomes worse... :)
But what I need is to do a projection on the chart, since the online charts show the highest price at the top of the graph with no provisions for projection or extrapolation.
Ray...
Due to pressure of time, I don't use Metastock nowadays ( I had used it during my futures-trading days in the past). In those days, we update our own data manually instead of having to wait till after the end of day for online data update to be available).
Thus we could then study "what if" scenarios well beforehand.
Do you know whether there's any provision in our data services for optional manual updating?
IPunter. :)
I use Omnitrader. I like its ability for programming filters. It's quite expensive, esp when I require real time data feeds, but it fits my trading style.
What about you?
Ray... :)
Which charting program are you using? Metastock?
dawnsj, sure thing, will try. Actually, since you've been reading up on ta, why don't you try your hand in interpretation? Give it a try. :)
Speed000, there are many types of charting programmes out there. Some of them are free, some not. Some use end of day data, and some real-time. You could start by using the ones provided by your internet brokerage firm. They're free, and usually real-time.
Thanks, Ray, for posting the chart of DJ and also giving your commentary on this chart. Occasionally, can you please post the STI chart and give your comments too?
Have just started reading on TA and find that I can understand your posting better. There are a lot to learn on TA and we have to practise a lot too.
Really appreciate your patience and sharing

I am thrilled by the dow performance last night. It was important. For about 11 days, it was trading without any clear directions. Strength was weak, it was moving north or south without committment. But yesterday's was decisive, and a rebirth for the dow. The worldwide indices show the same enthusiasm.
Have updated the latest dow chart.
1. Dark green bars of 11 days has been followed by the bright green bar yesterday.
2. Volume increasing from a 10 day continuous decrease.
3. Green arrow signal appeared again.
4. MACD bars turning north in a gentle manner.
5. MFI turned upwards.
Hi Vest4betterlife, nice nick by the way. And welcome!
You may want to try Technical Analysis Explained, by Martin Pring. It's a good read for basic TA which covers enough for one to get a decent understanding of what TA is. After you're done with that, you will then need to decide what type of TA you would like to employ as TA can be used in different ways for people with different investment strategies. Kinda like TA 101 in freshman year, and then moving on to Sophomore where one tries to grasp basic knowledge, then when you're decided on the strategy you like to use, you move on Junior, and then Senior year in the states.
Enjoy the ride!
