That means the technology is proprietary to BIG. Any copycat out there will have to face law suits from BIG (esp after the DES that breached BIG's patents has got commercialisation approval). Why BIG haven't sue Cardiomind (limus drug on biodegradable polymer), JNJ (sirolimus on biodegradable polymer), MDT (zotarolimus on biodegradable polymer) and ABT's ABSORB DES (Everolimus on biodegradable polymer) is because they haven't got CE Mark yet. When these patent breaching DESs got their CE Mark, BIG will definitely initiate law suit against them immediately. These patent breaches are multi-million settlement sum with future royalties for each DES.

The first patent technology mentioned is employed under Biomatrix-Freedom DES. This DES uses such a technology as described and is polymer free.
The second patent technology mentioned is employed under 100% fully biodegradable DES. It is similar to ABT's ABSORB DES program and leaves nothing behind inside the vessel when the DES fully biodegrades. It fulfills the believe by some medical experts that "leaving no foreign objects eventually" after interventional cardiovascular procedures is the best practice.

24th April 2008 - DRUG-DELIVERY ENDOVASCULAR STENT AND METHOD OF USE
Abstract - An improvement in drug-eluting stents, and method of their making are disclosed. The surface of a metal stent is roughened to have a surface roughness of at least about 20 μin (0.5 μm) and a surface roughness range of between about 300-700 μin (7.5-17.5 μm). The roughened stent surface is covered with a polymer-free coating of a limus drug, to a coating thickness greater than the range of surface roughness of the roughened stent surface.
Patent basically says that the process of roughening the surface to some degree mentioned above allows optimal attachment of the polymer and optimal delivery of drug to reduce the rate of occurrence and/or extent of restenosis or thrombosis.
1st May 2008 - Temporal Intraluminal Stent, Methods of Making and Using
Abstract - A biodegradable polymer stent with radiopacity and a method of making and using a stent with enhanced mechanical strength and/or controlled degradation for use in a bodily lumen is described
In summary, this is a new stent structure which is meant for its biodegradble version. Has the advantage of radiopacity to allow surgeons to track the placement of the stent in the body (important for surgical procedure) |

Sorry, there's a third recently awarded patent with the same title. The contents are almost the same as the other patent with same title. Maybe, they missed out some important info and decided to file another..

Should engage an ang moh investor relation professional company to chart this company's PR path. Let the analysts fully understand BIG's business model, hidden value and potential of this company at global DES arena. Do more road shows to attract more institutional investors becoming shareholders.

Usually BIG will put a notice on date of FY2008 release of financial results. Normally its about 45 days after the period ends so i expect it to be somewhere around mid-May. Losses are expected. Is BIG participating EuroPCR2008? How come they didn't announce also? Forever secretive, nobody knows what the hell is going on. Due to poor PR, i don't think this stock is on the radar screen of institutional investors in a meaningful way yet. I bet LYC and CKL are also horrified by the current share price of 70cts after CE Mark, China JWMS and US$40m cash profit. Fundamentally, this company has improved tremendously compared to a year ago. You need some serious institutional investors to mop up some free float and set this stock firmly on uptrend.

Exercise price is at 70cts, not 52cts. Your claim of BIG profitable by late 2009 is misleading again. FY2009 ends at 31/03/2009 and end 2009 is already near the end of FY2010. In the very first month of FY2009, BIG already booked profit of US$8m. BIG could have booked the full US$40m this quarter since the US$40m cash will be received this month. BIG is practising very conservative accounting practice. Im sure Jade's Antony Soh would love to book his US$1B coal mining profits net profit immediately for revaluation gain but unfortunately he cannot. BIG placed out shares for acquisition of China JWMS and PT Fondaco only. But these acquisition targets are profit generating subsidiaries and BIG do such share swaps deals for business strategic reasons as well. Nobody can fault BIG on such acquisitions like JWMS. Employee share options granted are less than 2% outstanding shares over the past year and so many listed companies have many share options also. Many companies renumerate/motivate their key personnel to perform well by granting them shre options and such practice has been around for years already.

i M A NEWBIE NOTICE big listed since 2005 ipo about 70cts but till todate so many placement out and so many share options granted and co sill losing $$$.no future liao even write all the beautiful rept can't move this stock.
Ang must have a lot of interest in this losing $$$ stock.Hope it will shoot up for the many investors who have lost $$$ on this BIG .Can pple here share thier losses and gains or BIG here..I think >losers than winners,hope I'm wrong |

I have already given my full analysis on LEADERS trial "chiong factor" and a few weeks ago already pushed backed my TP of $1.40 to early Nov 2008 after the Oct TCT2008 announcement of LEADERS trial. Are you sure you are so new and "virgin" to forums? Come out lah Happyday/787180/etc (duno why your name keep changing), don't need to hide behind your Television set lah.  If you have bad points to say about BIG, just say it. But must be backed be facts and good analysis. Don't need resort to slandering again.
