It was stated somewhere in WSJ that Warren Buffet had 3 (if I remembered correctly) potential candidates. And one of the criterias was like he/she must be much younger that him..

Warren Buffet is looking to hire a younger man or woman to succeed him. It has to be someone with the potential to manage a very large portfolio. Warren Buffet's rigorous requirements for Berkshire's next investment manager are standards that everyday investors should take a leaf from.

Warren's Buffet's ideal candidate has to be

  • Genetically programmed to recognise and avoid serious risks, including those never before encountered
  • Has independent thinking
  • Has emotional stability
  • Has a keen undertstanding of both human and institutional behaviour

Sorry to those who lost money...but I learn many years ago when I was still wet behind the ears that the stock market has no mercy. I too lost a pile then but I learnt my lesson over the years. I now buy only stocks with good fundamentals and dividend yields and never to buy on contra or margin.........and to buy more when others are throwing in panic. Remember the Chinese word 'Wei Ji' translated meaning opportunities created by crisis. As they say, no pain, no gain, no crisis, no gain..

To those who lost money, don't loose heart. Your time will come through experience. Cheers!

spurs88, you may have your days now, your postings have no respect for others' sensitivity. One day you will get your own medicine.

I believe today's rebound is only a technical one. The volumes are pretty low at 846 million shares but quite broad based (314 advances to only 90 declines).

STI may still vulnerable to further shocks.

Wat I was thinking is to have a new playground to accomodate players who like to short and contra. So far CFD satisfies contra players but I have yet to see another new playground for shortists.

By having a separate playground to accomodate to different kind of players it is a win-win situation for all parties. Currently all kinds of players are playing in the playground to the extent some are being pushed out due to too limited space.

I am looking for a fair playground for all parties. That is naive? Maybe it is but sometimes naive thoughts merit some consideration too. Ok mine is lousy proposal. Please ignore my suggestions then :)
