M Armstrong sits in jail now and perhaps when the wolf howls on a full moon they will let him out.

The dow has reached the 50 day moving average on retracement.
If middle east tension rises and with that the oil price an 8% drop is possible for the dow.
I tend to believe in the business cycles of Armstrong rather than IR euphoria.I think greenspan is right  about a recession as the american economy has expanded for 6 long years. He is paid $100,000 per lecture and will soon say something about the monster which he created  when he was the fed chairman

The correction has taken it's toll. The fundamentals of the local economy remains sound and underpinned by the IR pump priming.

battledome64, hmm i think you are rather new in this forum? as forumers.... normally most of us don't meet up to conduct sessions....majority of the forumers prefer to be remain as anomyous.

the only exception one..too bad you miss it.... simon give a course on his free will on 24th march.....but anyway, we didnt touch a lot on TA as time is very rushed.

it depends on your learning style. if you have the time, you can read books from Martin Pring on TA, or books recommended by singaporegal. if not, u may want to spend some money and attend a detail course outside on TA.

Although there are many books about TA analysis, however, I still feel that nothing beats having a guru explaining the technicals in person.  At the same time, there can be interactions and some of our questions may be answered.  Otherwise, why do we still have schools?  Might as well ask those primary students to read the books themselves and sit for the PSLE eventually.

I must give credentials to Simon Loh for his selfless efforts to conduct the presentation on 24 March 2007, not to forget that he charges nothing for it.  I believe he does it as a passion and willingless to help fellow traders, not to mention his time spent, especially in preparing for the training notes.  We don't normally get people wanting to do such tasks for free in this world.  Ask yourself if I'm right?

News
 25-03-2007  PRESS DIGEST - Singapore newspapers - March 26
SINGAPORE, March 26 (Reuters).

THE STRAITS TIMES
- Four explosions rocked a granite quarry in Indonesia owned by Hong Leong Asia on Friday, temporarily halting production at the site which provides about half of the city-state's granite needs. The cause of the blasts, which threaten to further damage Singapore's resurgent construction
industry, has not been established, but sabotage has not been ruled out.

Hi battledome64,

I don't think there's a need for people to teach TA... you can learn the basics from books. The rest is through experience.

Watch the currency market screen and you can see the US dollar slowly but surely declining. My previous forecast was for the US dollar to end at $1.50 Sing dollars by year end 2007. It looks like that target is going to be surpassed faster than expected. The US Dollar is now already at about $1.517 Sing dollars. If there is a US interest rate cut in the later part of the year, the US dollar will be under selling pressure.
Here is an article from Professor Chan Yan Chong's in the 300 issue of Shares Investment. He writes.
The Shanghai stock market fell more tha 8% on a single day, which was the worst in 10 years after 26 February 2007. It is the first time that the Chinese stock market has such a huge impact on global markets, which signifies the coming of age of the Chinese economy. This is a sign that the Chinese stock market is indeed very weak, structurally. If the Chinese stock market was still closed to foreigners, it would have little impact on the local bourse. Although I am worried, optimism still remains. Most companies are reporting their results and I believe most Chhinese companies and blue chip companies should report good set of results. What we can do now is to remain confident and be patient. Let the results do the talking.
The trend in global markets is leaning towards a gradual depreciation of the US Dollar and the rapid development of China. As such energy stocks will remain high and should rebound after a correction. It will become the most defensive type of stock in the future.
End of article
If China sells its US treasury assets, the US Dollar will go into a "free fall". It could very well be the "mother of all crashes" in financial markets if that happens......

The capture of the UK marines doesn't seem too good. Don't think Iran will just release them like in the past....with sanctions soon to be imposed on them (particularly the Revolutionary Guards).... i think they will try to barter for something. I suggest caution going into monday. What do u guys think?
