very very sad to see the uptrend is being supressed by the D.J market!!!!! now -158 and hope it wun be like HSI today..... all the way down to south pole!!!
Why there is always no smooth path for BIG???? Hope it will continue to go higher high but it's all market sentiment that play a part.....

Today's surge could be BBs expect better than expected 4th quarter FY2008 results coming next Monday evening. I suspect they have sold quite a large number of Biomatrix DESs even before the official launch date of 01/04/2008. I think the medical field people may have got the some kind of info sharing among themselves that NOBORI and Biomatrix could selling way way above what BIG has projected. A lot of people expect BIG to lose US$8m on the 4th quarter but maybe BIG managed to turn around faster than expected. Personally, I expect a small loss figure of around US$2m for 4th Quarter of FY2008.
Recycle: IF THE JWMS DEAL IS NOT APPROVED BY THE AUTHORITY, ANYONE LIKE TO COMMENT ON WHAT WILL BE THE NEXT THEORY? -NO LISTING OF JWMS -NO 120 + 40 + 20 MIL SHARE (10+%) TO WEIGUO/MEDTRONIC.
Bengster: If the second 50% didn't go thru, BIG still owns 50% of JWMS and still can go for JWMS listing next year. No 120 + 40 + 20m shares means MDT has much lesser amount of influence as an indirect shareholder of BIG. In such corporate moves (esp involving a new substantial shareholders)are very complex behind the scene negotiation process and what we are doing here are guessing only. Maybe a deal has already been struck and MDT is the real likely takeover buyer. If the whole JWMS deal goes thru, MDT's affiliates (WeiGao and Dr Jack Wang) controls over 20% of BIG shareholdings. Could someone be backing the Chinamen to do such a deal with BIG? The real prize is not JWMS but BIG because only BIG owns the top class DES technology and patents that can be fully exploited on a global basis by a medical device MNC. The Chinamen also know JWMS can list next year with at least US$800m valuation and why would they want to hold listed BIG shares which is not perfoming well in SGX? They could be holding listed China JWMS shares since it is just a matter of time for JWMS listing plans. JNJ may never even has a chance to fully own BIG as MDT can fend off a full 100% takeover. Its a tricky situation now for JNJ if they want to takeover 100% of BIG to fully exploit BIG's patents and technology.
Does anyone know what is MAS's rules on M&A takeover percentages? I have seen two thirds in other countries and some even with a supermajority of 80%..
If's its 50% then BIG's fate cannot be decided by small shareholder. Maybe it has already been decided.. :-)
