Looks like China gives a strong fart this morning and STI runs for cover from the smell... :)

Take suntan lotion along while fishing. Be cautious.

after pivoting around 3400 (close even at 3400) for past few days, the market choose to go down today for the week...however, this may not be supported by current market sentiment in US..let's wait and see tonight's market performance as things are still uncertain about the trend though the bears has an upper hand now compared to the bulls...good luck

Economist Paul Samuelson(Nobel Prize in economics 1970) said Wall Street indices predicted nine out of the last five recessions.

Yah, occassionally BBs give small flies opportunities to grap some goodies also.

In weather like this, it is better to fish for FA fishes...... :)

I love it this way - take baby steps at a time instead of spiking up and dropping like durians.

Highlighted in blue is what I wrote a few days ago. I disagreed with Greenspan on US economy going forward. In today's business times Alan Greenspan has changed his tune and downplays a US recession saying that global economy will support the slowing US economy.

Allan Greenspan did mention about a possible US recession. The recent US data on job growth seems to indicate that the US economy is in Goldilocks state i.e neither hot nor cold. Greenspan's assessment is a peak in growth of US companies that eventually lead to a recession. He seems to suggest the end of a economic cycle. Well what happened in the past is not always a indicative of what will happen again in the future. Six years ago, China was not the 4th largest economy in the world. But now it is. I believe we are in the beginning of a Third Industrial Revolution with Asia at the centre of it. Well let's see.....

STI likely to go higher with the run spreading out to the broader market sectors after last run on property and banking sectors.

first day of 16th April, the market choose to close above 3400 (the current pivot point after 3228 in March)...let's see how the market will perform for the next few days...if it can substain until this week, good chance of it reaching 3500, else will adopt neutral stand (of course selected stock still in play)....good luck :)

nice to see the last third waves down (normal 3 waves down before bottoming with each wave smaller ripple for mid-term) for index while still remaining around 3193 (3228 as the pivot point for mid-term uptrend to remain intact)...think the uptrend is still intact and advise buy on dip for good counters esp. property, oil and chip stocks..good luck and not for contra

Same here, too.

STI is just a rough guide that the market maybe heading.

Sometime, STI goes up or down, the shares that you are holding is not moving,

or is going the opposite direction.

Actually I am more focus on my individual company stocks than the STI. If your company stock is going to continue to grow, then just hold.

So-called crashes are invariably market corrections, albeit of  different magnitudes...

In the long run, markets have only one way to go... UP... :)

In my view, the recent big correction is such a 'crash'.

from my exp in stocks trading over the years. the economy will not crash so suddenly nor rise from recession so fast. thus with the upcoming project in store for the nest few years. we should see STI bullish for the mid term. long term is not feasible in current economy as Spore faces many competion. as for short term, we should see volatility. still vested in spore however with caution to cut lost early to advoid dip or correction..
