That's a very likely scenario...

Considering the Dow rallies in the past few days...

my guess is shanghai C will be down again 2morrow n so will the rest of asia, n since 2morrow is friday it is rather nervy plus 2morrow nite no economic data due from US...dow mayb down tumbling 2morrownite if asia mkts all down badly (especially if dow down below 50 pts when it closes today's session), then dow will get nervy n close down maybe 100 pts on saturday morning .

My thoughts on IDESA168 below, looking @ China they cannot afford to let USA sink, the repercussions to their economy would cause another revolution, they seem to be propping up the USA to buy all their manufacturing output, they are not farmers any more.

This market here is dependant on so many larger ones, I think the near future will see much volatility,  people here now are driven by property, marine, & IR & not the wider picture.

I too appreciate all the comments given on SJ by those far wiser than a newbe like myself.

It looks like it will not follow the Dow up...

But is is more likely to follow the Dow down...

Especially tomorrow...

Hi idesa168,

Thanks for the compliment. But I really don't deserve it. I tend to be swayed by emotions too but I try hard to be aware of my emotions when I trade.

Feedback from property agents, private condos will be oversupplied by 2010 when thr IRs are ready. Tke note of frenzy enbloc sale now, by the time when they are all rebuilt, it will around 2010. Any effect on Stocks ? Will the property markets prolong the bull or ends with the bear ?

My estimate for this bull market was 3400-3600 to be ended at Dec 2007 Plus minus 6 months.

Thank you Victorian for your insightful experience. I fully agree with you that the start of a bull phrase are the Big Blue Chips that surge. Towards the end of the Bull, the blue chips will go all quiet and the pennies will carry on with the bull and then the burst of bubble. Why is this the usual when the pennies comes last because they are cheap. And all aunties and uncles can afford and jump in the wagon, thinking of making some easy money. So when these people goes into the market (trading penny stocks), it's almost time the bubble will burst and it's time the wise investors exit. Well the greedy ones will get caught. Now the golden question is when will the bubble burst at the current trading rate? Are we into the last stage of the bulls? Looking over to China where all the people are rushing into stock market. Bloomberg reported today that the phone line were jammed up bcos all the people are transfering $$ into their account for trading stock via the phone lines. Some even sell houses and cars to get a pcs of the action in stock mkt. Are we seeing the last stage of the bull in China? All of us had experience the power of China that when they sneeze we all were blown off, US will not be spared too. It had showed sign of wekening in the 27 Feb and today. If the China mkt is over heated now and should the bubble burst, we will all be devastated. We do not have the chance to see the last stage of STI bull if China stock mkt collasped overnight. My feel is almost time now for STI, just feel. My advise to all newbie, trade with your spare cash, not loan. Set target before trade. Once traget met, exit. If not cut lose, trade without emotion. We are all small investors that even if you bought the company's share, the mgt will not know you. One person that I held in high esteem is Singaporegal. She is emotionless. Salute to you, madam!

Today, many stocks did not fall maybe because people have confidence that the STI will recover higher during the end of the day.

But since the STI closed even lower than the day's lows, there is bound to be reflection by these people in the evening on the wisdom of not selling during the day. Then perhaps they will be poised to do some selling tomorrow.

This phenomenon was also seen during the recent big market correction when many stocks did not fall (or even rise during) the first phase of the selldown. Then on subsequent days, these 'strong stocks' started to fall while many of the others rose.

Tomorrow is Friday...

If the Dow really falls heavily tonight ie.Thursday night (Dow follows Shanghai?),

tomorrows STI will not be strong even if it rises...

But it is not so likely to rise, since in this type of jittery market,

no fund manager will want to be caught with their pants down over the weakend.
