GMG Global up 8.8% after Merrill’s “buy” call
Shares of Singapore’s GMG Global (GMGG.SI) rose as much as 8.8% on Wednesday after Merrill Lynch initiated coverage of the firm with a “buy” rating with a target price of $0.50.
At 10:54 a.m., shares of GMG Global, which owns rubber plantations in Indonesia, Cameroon and Ivory Coast, were 5.3% higher at $0.30 with over 65.9 million shares changing hands.
Merrill Lynch said GMG’s parent Sinochem, being China’s largest rubber trader, will give GMG direct access to the China market, which consumes a third of the world’s rubber production.
“The rubber sector is facing a severe supply shortfall post many years of underinvestment. With the rising demand driven by China and India auto, we expect the rubber price rally to last till 2012,” the brokerage said in a report.
The rise in GMG’s share price comes as Thailand’s Sri Trang Agro cancelled its Singapore secondary listing, citing market volatility.

That's good to hear... So the big buy ups are from those fund managers who has prior knowledge of this information?
That means there is potential to hit TP of $1 if P/E 30x ?

GMG Global: Merrill Lynch Initiate at Buy with $0.50 TP.based on SOTP, with an implied FY11E PE of 15.5x, and offering a 75% potential upside.
I averaged down to .285-.295, now is going up nicely, very tempted to profit take but from limited experience it should go up a few more days at least.... Rubber prices have been constantly going up also and expected to up at least until asian rubber producers pick up production after march?
Another forum poster has a good description of this share, it will "ding dong' at a range then shoot up suddenly. then ding dong again... Going to wait until >.33 then sell, see can reach the target or not?

Happy for you guys but not meaning to be a wet blanket, my experience with this counter is run usually only for a couple of days than puncture. Those vested with profit can afford to take a chance but those that did not get in yet and thinking about it, I went in during the last run at 0.315 and 0.325 and almost immediately after lau si and took a painful beating. But please take this as just my experience. It may just be my arse luck...

Good to stay vested on both counters (if you got da bullents) as Rubber prices will continue to rise. GMG still has the potential of the chinese market. So, watch this sp[ace ;P
I hear big boys are switching to SRI TRANG AGRO-INDUSTRY PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED
GMG is rubber .... SRI TRANG is rubber..... If your an investor you will buy a bigger and stable plantation for greater yield..... not that GMG is not attractive but BB are selling and buying into SRI TRANG

GMG has not rebounded recently , instead it came down again . It broke the 100MA n closed at 28.5 cents . Since the top formation has formed at 33.5 cents in December 2010 , its trend turned weak n came all the way to 27.5 cents , n rebounded from here to form a rising wedge . Breaking the formation at 30 cents with big volume on 18 January 2011 , the downtrend would be confirmed . Strong support is at 25 cents .
