Potential divestment gain of $17m from injection of assets into Hyflux Water Trust. HWT, a pure global water business trust  expected to list on the SGX in Dec '07, will have an initial portfolio of 13 Chinese BOT projects (Figure 1) and the right of first refusal for another 15 municipal projects.

CGK estimate initial divestment gains of $17m (based on a conservative 1.5x P/BV). Hyflux's effective stake will be reduced from 80% to 25%.

ok guy,

let's analyse. The magic figure that everyone is guessing i.e. howmuch will hyflux make in this trust? That's the million dollar question.

1st, Hyflux made abt $8m from cityspring trust from 1 project, so 13plants would mean $104m. As a trustee manager, they will probably make $70m from listing and managing the trust. Mgt fees & maintenance fees will probably make HYlux abt $1m each plant,so $13m. So if you add all these, its abt$187m, that's totally excluding the capital gains on the IPO listing. The additional 12 plants will net them another $96m. Its a whole new game my friends!

Just BUY!!!! OPEN THE FLOODGATES......!!

Hi Dnomsed,

You are right. Those situations do happen sometimes. In those cases, there are 2 explanations -

(1) For that particular counter, the Acc/Dist and Chaikin charts are not that accurate. You can look back in its chart history to see if it follows those charts well

(2) The TA charts are actually foretelling that the price trend is heading in the wrong direction

Either way, it is a better to be cautious.

Hyflux will float what is likely to be the world's first pure-play water business trust on SGX by theend of this year, it said.

Wire reports, quoting unnamed sources, said that the trust will be worth over $100 million. Hyflux Water Trust (HWT) will start off with 13 of its parent company's 25 plants in China. The 13 plants will have a total daily capacity of 445,000 cubic metres. Seven of these plants will already be operational when the trust is listed, while the remaining six are expected to start operating by end-'08, Hyflux said

By end-'09, all 25 plants will be part of the trust, said Sam Ong, Hyflux's new CFO. Hyflux will remain HWT's single largest shareholder once the trust is listed, Mr Ong said. It intends to hold a stake of between one-quarter and one-third in the trust.

HWT will also look at third-party assets. The trust will mostly target plants that are worth at least $30m each.

My mid-long term view on Hyflux is that...its poise to soar.

Expansion into biofuel and chemical field is a One Giant Step for Hyflux since its listing years back.

I believe it will reach $3.8-4.4 mid-term. Long term is unimaginable. Blue chip next 1-2 years?

TA wise im only rookie, but my experience so far is that Ta always lack behind news and FA.

And sometimes TA interpretation varies person to person.

Btw, those candlestick guru will also note that theres 3 white soldiers now. Set to soar next 1-2 weeks??

cheers

Hi singaporegal,

thanks for explaining. I see, when price is breaching upper band of bollinger, though it theoretically signals an "overbought" situation, but  looking at both acc/dist and chaikin at the same time, one can see that  market is  still accumulating the counter. So likely upward trend. This is one of the better TA strategies I believe...

Nonetheless, we know of scenarios where acc/dist and chaikin are downtrending and yet price are uptrending, any idea why so?

Hi Dnomsed,

The bollinger band by itself just gives us an indication if large and sudden price movements may occur. I usually combine it with the Acc/Dist and Chaikin chart readings.

So if the price cuts above the upper bollinger band and Acc/Dist and Chakin are uptrending, there is a higher probability of a breakout upwards. This is what happened to Hyflux today - perfect textbook example.
