Seriously... let's be objective about it...
Robert has a supreme point when he says stocks are not cheap just because they've
fallen a bit from the highs.
It is the same story though... that frogs when boiled very, very slowly over an extended period
of time, will not feel uncomfortable... until a point when they are no more alive, but are still clinging on to the belief that the water is just warm!
This phenomenon is a superb analogy for bulls who have known nothing else, but make easy money during the long run-up.
It may just be the case right now...
ie. with people averaging down, buying more good 'bargains', cheap..., good value... etc.

You'll be surprised even how ah sohs can make money from the market. I know of one that buys Guthrie at low 20cts (back then) and sells a few cents up then buy again when it dips to low 20s. think she is now laughing her way to the bank liao. Imagine that no TA or FA require... Seems that this strategy had suit her well for the past few years..
So Robert need not worry about newbies losing too much money. From the postings, seems like majority are earning with help/advice from the seniors

While writing this message I am slapping my forehead, I can't possibly enlighten you with a single page discription. It all boils down to character, you may be a professor in a prestige university and lost your pants too. It really boils down to how good you are, to appreciate cheap stock, it's either you love it or hate it. Can't explain. I believe when creative was selling at $27 you were not saying the same thing.

I don't look at stocks like Creative. I would avoid it. Cheap stock does not a buy too me without any upside potential. I don't see potential in Creative
The strength of the US economy is what should drive US stocks forward. Interest rate is NOT going to be raised for the near term....

You are not wrong, but when the stock becomes cheap people starts to avoid it. Look at Osim and Creative.... So ppl like harryp will make me laugh like a crazy elephant when he say I want to buy cheap cheap stocks coz I don't think he will buy it when the stock really "goes on sales".

Sure there can be cheap stocks out there at this time of the market. You have to find them:). Most people just assumes everything is expensive which is obviously not true....

STI still dropping but seems to be doing quite ok as compare to the last few days.. Need to wait for the afternoon to see how before i vest more into the counters
