Fibonacci numbers are used by many technicians but they are too subjective

Better to use years ending with 07  give negative returns  - a broad generalization.

There are too many variables in the market especially in a globalised world. If bernanke has no answer to this meltdown than who has the answer? Where are the golden years I heard about only a few days ago?

There are many indicators precisely because they are useful only at times-an analogy is that there are so many anti histamines because they are all partially effective in treating allergy.

In a bear market the oversold indicator goes to extremes and stays there until you panic.

The holy grail does not exist. It is not to be found out there but more likely in your own disciplined mind during quiet meditative moments.

When one buy a share, its base on TA, FA, GA, RA, etc. So what now?

Throwing in the towel now is like 30-40% or even 50% cut lost....Smiley

Is there any other strategies that can minimise the lost?

If STI falls way below 3309, say reaching 3081, I would consider this wave as wavelet E. Another word, from a ht of 3665 to 3081 (wave A of beginning bear) breaking the support at 3310 (the ht before Feb fall) lends itself more to a bearish indication. Then wave B (of bear) will reach at most around 3490.

Self-confidence is greatly affected by the eroding marouding market beasts. It is like sitting in a torture chamber with cannibals slicing off our flesh bit by bit. Is it time to throw in the towel? Smiley

There is no easy solution for an economic expansion based on debt and easy money and predatoty lending by banks(First time Bush made a sensible statement)

Bear market is clearly in progress so you believe what you see or choose to see what you believe.Turn the chart upside down.?

The neckline is broken at 3300 and the target is 2800 with feeble spikes in between .

If you have a time horizon of 4.2 years( Armstrong business cycle) you can buy .

Warren Buffett can withstand a closure of the market for 3 years but can we?

Markets can gap down without volume when petrified buyers go on strike.

!n 1997 stocks dropped from 2500 to 800 and it was not too late to sell in august when thailand devalued the baht in july.

In the meantime remember your nursery rhymes;

Humpty Dumpty.

Jack and Jill.

Hey diddle diddle is over as the cow has already jumped over the moon.

Good Luck

ruanlai: the constant red is eroding the profits those ppl earn during the bull market in the previous months. if this condition persist for another few months, all those profits will soon turn to losses if the players are not disciplined enuff. let this be a lesson to all margin contra or shortist players. it is a lose-lose plying those strategy if you are not disciplined enuff. i hope those ppl losses not so great. have a stable job work for monthly income coupled with side line play abit stocks still better lar :)

Today market, only you have buying up power then can hold the shares.

All margin players either cut loss or loss even greater.......Both side also die.

Shortists also die.......if bottoms up.....

Holding the cash and watch sideway are all lot of investors waiting for........

DO NOT PLAY CONTRA......

Pinnacle: i try to copy certain BB strategy in investing but as a solo player i have limited capital to play. i have a full time job also so i would say my average purchase is 1 - 5 lots at most. puny to BB but to me is alot. i still have cash in FD locked last year and some at FSM Cash Fund. these are my emergency cash which i should handle with care. i now better understand why Spore govt so prudent in spending liao cuz you can neber predict when a crisis going to hit your pockets hard hahahah....

oh yes i still do my everyday work and routine and sleep peacefully at nite cuz i do not invest ALL monies in stocks alone. this diversification strategy in investment is good for me. i still need reserve some monies to pay my insurance in Sep 2007. i hope you have some financial planning for yourself too :)

yep harryp, you're right. the large local shareholders are actually holding on; the ones selling are the foreign owners of blues (hence their large falls today, look at kepcorp), and panicky retailers on the pennies. but since no one's buying, they're forced to throw down even lower.

for the counters not exposed to foreign funds (read: pennies that analysts don't report on): the vol is very, very low. indication of large players holding. see busd, it's only small lots selling. nothing of significance at all. the price fall is artificially depressed. if you have the funds, hold, when ppl are done panicking, buy back in.

no worries.

jade is doing very well today. hehe.

This wide wash of the stock market will hit those rookie investors. Only those with holding power and cash rich will prevail.

Damn Siong!
