Those who sold today are those griped with fear. Those who did not sell are still contemplating the next move! Whatever it is, we should understand balancing risk against market volatilty and investment size. Since it is a zero sum game, people who bought today are real hunters and those who sold have become prey. The psychological barrier is broken by the rate cut and there should be calm in the market until the next market volatility.

Some good news and bad news, all trading will be volatile in coming week on lower volume.

Bad news 1st.....8,800 hedge funded and some is selling. "Taboh leh Tahan liao".

Good news is after selling, some will wait and standby to pound on cheap stocks.

Sub-prime saga continue spreading it woes to key currencies. New FED chief is now doing damaged control.....will it help for now. I think not...Smiley thou..it is better late then never. oil px is expecting to be on the slide as US 2Half is expecting to slow or even test depression before recovering it old self. Singapore and regional economic look robust, however world financial market is in bad shape and is trying to prevent further erosion by implementing damaged control. WatchSmiley

part 2

While STI lao sai in the toilet, Mr. FED was just next door and cannot tahan the lao sai smell anymore. He admitted, "Actually, I have a solution to stop your lao sai but you got to keep it a secret!" You need to fast for 50 days ( 50 basis pts ) and the stomach bug will go away. STI thought it could help and decide he will start fasting this Monday...

To be continued....

Newmoon, I share the same opinion. The world has just moved to the next stage of further inflation as money continues to flood the world and set the stage for the next equity boom. Meanwhile let's enjoy the ride till the final ultimate pain.

A stealth cut was already reported in the asian wall street this morning but not by the fed.

This news may not revive the market as the core problem of debt is not resolved-may just prolong the crisis.

In my opinion, its time to clear as I don't think it has reached rock bottom yet. Once that happens you can start buying more lots with the same amount of money.

Advice needed Smiley

I have a profitable portfolio before the lao sai started....and i was still in a region of minus 15% - 20% this morning......but...defying all advices and even my own intention to HOLD onto my portfolio, i did some intraday trading today...with some guts and lucks....i have just managed to BREAK EVEN now...meaning...still in the black after brokerage fees.

My total portfolio very much exceeded my SELL LIMIT for my 2 internet trading accounts. If you are in my position, will you still HOLD or get your BROKER to CLEAR all your market position ?

Your kind feedback is very much appreciated as i have never thought i would end up in such position (a good but difficult one for me) in such volatile market and at such uncertain time.

Thanks in advance Smiley

European Stocks Gain Despite Severe Losses in Asia 17 Aug 2007 | 04:30 AM ET

European stocks pushed higher Friday, as investors looked beyond huge one-day declines in Asian equities and took confidence from a late-session rally in the U.S. stock market Thursday.

Fed made a stealth cut last night but did not make announcement(asian wall street reported today).

Scared to make public  announcement  in case there is no response(lose face)

Bear market already after prolonged expansion based on debt.

Sell the rallies but down buy the dips
