eh the feelin is diff..betting in casino feels so much better than online I guess? the feel of the chip that you are holding..with free drink and people serves you..and online would be much different..the excitement may not be as good as trading market.

trading people will discuss like in sharejunction?

correct me if i am wrong, same as playing mahjong and viwawa the different is totally different

typical singaporean kiasu mentality... want to bao ka liao. HangSeng opens later than us, closes earlier than us...have a 1.5 hours lunch break, Yet turnover is so much more. In fact, STI often drops because of Hangseng. So, must see 'own self' wu-liao-bo. Didn't know it can catch on a Swede (Magnus or really is he 'madness', ceo sgx) so soon. If this initiative indeed increases turnover and profit, I'm sure he's going to get a big fat bonus at the end of the year. ADX - so far turnover has been disappointing. Changing trading hours - ? Blackpool - ? Superfast trading system - ? Buying Australian exchange -? so, what's up his sleeve next

their purpose is also to overlap more with those of other Asian exchanges. Opening at 930am will defeat the purpose. Closing at 430pm will miss out the actions at the european exchanges which opens at 4pm sg time.

/DMG//SGX: S$8.55                                                                                                               BUY (TP: S$9.45)

More positive newsflow

Following our results review note issued earlier this week, more positive
newsflow for SGX has emerged. Hutchison, which is controlled by Li
Ka-shing, said it will sell a stake in a trust holding container ports in
Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong province.  Hutchison is listing the new port
company on SGX because HKEx regulations don’t allow such trusts.
Expectations are that the sale could raise US$6b. In addition, effective 1
Mar 2011, SGX securities trading will be continuous with no lunch break,
which SGX believes could raise ADT by some 6-12%. Collectively, these two
developments could potentially increase SGX ADT by S$260m, and raise SGX
target price to S$10.20. Pending more information relating to these
developments, we maintain our S$9.45 target price, derived from 22x P/E of
our assumed FY12 ADT of S$1.90b.  SGX remains a BUY.

SGX -  Technical Analysis

SGX showed a recovery rally after touching a correction-low at 8.21 on December 23. The stock was able to clear a short-term downtrend line and the 20-day moving average. On Wednesday it staged a second leg up and cleared another downtrend line and the 50-day moving average on strong volumes. Yesterday it pulled back and closed just upon the 50-day. A break above Wednesday's high at 8.73 would confirm the recent bullish breakout and short-term uptrend. Potential upside targets are located near 8.99 (38.2%- Fibonacci retracement from the peak at 10.26) and then 9.24 ( horizontal resistance and 50%- retracement). A drop below the recent short-term trough at 8.33 would negate the constructive picture and allow for possible resumption of the mid-term downtrend.

quite siong for remisers. Alot of them use the 1.5 hours break to do admin and lunch.

Surprising that the CEO suggested that. He'd prob be 'chopped' into pieces in his homeland which really emphasizes worklife balance and worker's welfare.

If they want to do that, they shoud probably opens like 30 mins later at 930am and close 4:30pm. I wonder if this might become a topic for discussion during election?

Those in SGX or brokerage houses will have to adjust their lunchtime in staggered hours,  or ,   get  stand-in part timers for 2 hours during lunch break, if not,  there is no resting time for the stuff.

Bad for health! Can sue or not??   LOL!
