buy on dip...one of the cheapest blue chip telecom stock with 10% yield even in the whole world...very rare....foresee it will move up to $2.68 or even $3 when Singapore GDP recovery in full swing by next year....good luck :)

will the joint hosting of fifa world cup improve the profit much? selling iphone will not have big impact for the profit i guess.

Looking at the figures, it seems like starhub will most likely be in the red in the next quarter announcements.

im still holding them at the moment but thought of cashing out first as already break even n collected the divdends.

any kind advise on this? how good is the prospects for the company?

Thanks. :)

Hi,

What figures are you looking at to determine that Starhub will be in the red?

yes i agreed . At present , i don't think M1 will come in 2nd in telco ranking. Even thou Starhub lost the BPL contract to singtel , it may not be as bad as most people think .

Without BPL , starhub revenue is likely to dip but i think their profit gain will be higher.

Such recommendation by Kim Eng is absurd and ridiculous.  How can M1 be higher than Starhub, and Starhub is targetted at $1.80.  Only mad and stupid will believe Kim Eng Securities which must be holding a lot of M1 shares.

High Div of 4.5c per qtr is not sustainable beyong this FY09 when the loss of BPL kicks in mid-2010.

Top Ideas (Kim Eng 14 Dec)

Target price: M1 $2.06, SingTel $3.51, StarHub $1.80

BUY on M1 and SingTel, SELL on StarHub

On balance however, we maintain our calls of BUY on M1 and SingTel and SELL on StarHub. The availability of iPhones will help M1 and StarHub defend their turf. M1 in particular should be able to start bringing down its stubbornly high churn rate. For StarHub however, the benefits are still outweighed by the risks of subscriber loss to SingTel after losing the BPL rights. We expect little to no impact on SingTel - it is unlikely many of its customers will jump ship, as the revised offerings (specifically, the larger data bundles and bill caps) have also been extended to them.
Telco Sector Update (Gregory YAP 6432 1450)
Previous day closing price: M1 $1.84, SingTel $3.02, StarHub $2.02 Recommendation: M1 Buy (maintained), SingTel Buy (maintained), StarHub Sell (maintained),

the dividend is substainable and all calls by analysts will be reversed to BUY in the next few months....but by that time, the share price will already shoot up...hence you buy now...good luck :)

Most of the people find this counter very boring.... so we can see quite a lot selling despite the high dividend.
