Why top 20 loser on 21.10.2008 12.30?
source: www.sgdividends.blogspot.com
As of half time 21/10/2008 , ST Engineering is in the top 20 loser counters. Is it because engineering is dead?(go to
salary.sg to read more, we are refering to a career in engineering, just to clarify)!
Since the last financial statements, they have been winning:ST ENGINEERING WINS US$58M MSD-V2 ORDERS FROM US ARMY
ST ENGINEERING’S US SHIPYARD SIGNS PHASE II OF FAST MISSILE CRAFT PROJECT ADDS A FURTHER US$406.5M TO TOTAL CONTRACT VALUE
ST ENGINEERING’S AEROSPACE ARM PROVIDES RSAF TRAINING WORTH S$105M
ST ENGINEERING’S ELECTRONICS ARM WINS S$112M CONTRACT FROM LAND TRANSPORT AUTHORITY .......E.T.C
PLUS.....
Sounds good to look at....but is it good to eat? Let's us investigate.
Gross Profit Margin: 22.6%
Net Profit Margin: 9.39% ( Do you think its high?)
Debt repayment muscle: CA more than CL @ 1.09
Cheapskateness:NAV at 47cents . Last done price now is: $2.34. ( wah still quite glam sia)

Money in Money out: Cash flow from Operation is positive but Free cash flow is negative. (Net cash from operating activities - purchase of property, plant and equipment)
No wonder Engineers are paid so low...relatively..
Important: The objective of the articles in this blog is to set you thinking about the company before you invest your hard-earned money. Do not invest solely based on this article. Unlike House or Instituitional Analysts who have to maintain relations with corporations due to investment banking relations, generating commissions,e.t.c, SGDividends say things as it is, factually. Unlike Analyst who have to be "uptight" and "cheem", we make it simplified and cheapskate. -The Vigilante Investor, SGDividends Team
this fundamentally strong stock is technically unwell
but in today's market....what is TA & FA got to do when it is news and sentiments that rule?
short la.. :)
No lah..dun short leh, must support our defence industry mah! As its the nature of the counter to be defensive also. Do watch out for 2.46, can go ahead if its break...not today tho.
technicals looking good for a short...
CFD short this bugger :)
It holds steady bcos Temasek holds about 50% of the shares, BBs not interested bcos diff to manipulate.
This is indeed a cool counter. Not much of spill blood.
Interesting analysis. Your 55-day is very interesting. It seems to be the resistance line for this bear. What you are seeing is actually due to bear now. You realise that 8-day seldom hits higher than 55-day. However, all these are just guidelines. Real world situation cannot be modelled accurately using TA. It is not stationary, it is very dynamic. People have tried Neural networks, signal processing etc but still not conclusive.
Warren Buffet reads annual report. He uses FA. I read online that he used strict FA criteria. I'm not familiar with that, otherwise, i won't be here. Still learning.

Shift the study to SembMar, it was only when the gap get wider (or widest), then only MA8 will cross MA55 from under (fallen enough to convincingly cut MA55 from below). In the SembMar the MA8 after crossing above MA55, the gaps get wider each time it falls to the MA55 level (early Apr08, late apr08, early jun08), then it convincingly cuts downwards. Is this the way to that it will cut the MA55 convincingly after the gaps between MA8 and MA55 get wider after each meeting of the MAs ? If it is, then Wing Tai will have fall some more. If it "theory" is the other way round, then St Engg will have to fall ? Anyone care to comment ? |

Like Wing Tai, St Engg also touch MA55 briefly each time it bounces back. The gap between MA8 and MA55 gets wider after every rebound. 1st gap occurs in Nov07, 2nd wider gap in Feb08(mar08 was quite close, but smaller gap), and the widest was in July 08. Starting to worry will the next gap get even wider, is this a signal that it is temp stable ?
Really? You mean Warren Buffet? then better get ready tomorrow.
What about spore gurus Ooi HL, UOB chairman etc?

I like your joke! I had a good laugh! Indeed, should wait. I'm waiting and doing nothing for the time being.
I might only buy China ETF for the time being. Long term, China is still ok. It has dropped by 50% already. Who knows, next time China might be like US or better!. Jim Rogers had mentioned China before. CocaCola has just bought China something fruit juice etc. Never know, next might be Warren Buffet??

JPM is the main BB controlling this counter today.
fyi only.
Bolly bands getting tighter.
Acc/Dis on the rising trend.
MAX looks promising.
Caveat.
ST Eng TA charts show that it may have bottomed out.
Acc/Dist and Chaikin on the slight rise.
