So these China companies are like women to men. CAN'T LIVE THEM CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THEM. Hehehehe. And we can never tell what they going to do next.

Most Chinese companies do not care about the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), the standard method used by companies in western countries to estimate the cost of equity capital. Only a small portion of sampled companies (24%) use CAPM. A possible explanation could be that China’s stock market is still far from mature. The stock price does not reflect the real value of the equity because of the difference between the untradable state-owned shares and ordinary shares held by the public.

The biggest mistake of SGX is having too many unscrupulous china companies listed here.  A big spring clean should start sooner .

I had this fear that if SGX takes over ASX.   Aussies could not find themselves any dumber.   The way of the average Singapore share investor always a hard time making money..

i agree these china companies are bad but they are everywhere  now. You name it and they are there. Even in new born stock markets like campodia, Gabon, Rwanda, and Mauritus. Just to name a few they are like ants you dont see them but they are there. Because manufacturing, construction, shipping, infrastructure works and products are all manufactured and done by them. Hard to get rid of ants only reduce cant exterminate.

The trading halts come as Singapore Exchange awaits a regulatory approval for the proposed takeover, which has also encountered political opposition in Australia, and follows other overseas exchange-merger announcements last week, including a proposed tie-up between Deutsche Boerse AG and NYSE Euronext. The expected announcement is “likely to be a structural change to the ongoing arrangements based on discussions with regulators,” said Angus Gluskie, who manages about US$350 million ($448.3 million) at White Funds Management in Sydney and owns ASX shares. “If so, such a change would enhance their ability to have the deal approved.”

Under the circumstances (uncertainty),

perhaps this counter will continue trading in a sideways range.

Thus, a good price to enter would be to wait till it slips down to 8.22 again...

but again, that would of course be just another bet... Smiley

Good Day Traders

This is my personal opinion on SGX dated 25/01/11

No matter how bullish or bearish on chart, remember that we are dealing with probability and no certainty.

So protect the trade with cut-loss or profit-protect level.
