Unless MR.OHL is willing to make the first move to buy more shares now in the open market to sort of show his genuine support, otherwsie this could be a 10c stock the most. The crux lies with either Equation or OHL go in now to show their support.

Chipchip, past experiences tells me that this stock is certainly a no go for the uninitiated. The trading is no more based on findamentals or rationality. I wish those who are tempted to avoid for the time being as everthing is so emotional - obviously the stock may rebound today but the realistic view is that there will be heavy shorting again downwards towards the major shareholder's level. It is difficult to see optimism for a long time. I am not into this type of scenario and wish investors will be more rational.

Hi SavvySamyeo, this is the worst sell-down i hav ever seen! Almost 90% of share price gone down in 1 day! There could be retail investors getting burnt badly yesterday. Should there be a mechanism to halt such crashes by SGX so small investors will be sort of protected against indiscriminate dumping?? Well, on the otherhand, if those people were to short, then difffernt story already. I think shotists yesterday will be longists today. Cheerz!

Hi Nos, why should Equation be back to where its original price was?? It should be lauded for being a white knight and made a bold move to invest 37.5% of Citiraya. It should be rewarded for the price rise! Of course the price has risen too fast and too much but this is all the fun there is to playing stock market. So, do u hav any idea what is the fair value of Equation?

Chipchip:

"Ya man, the sell down is so relentless that I can only see helplessly."

Yes the price movements and collapse was painful and cruel to watch. While the smaller punters were buying up and beyond 30c the big boys were unloading by the hundreds and thousand of lots - reminiscence of the Asian crisis of 1998. Uninformed investors should not rush in so blindly, it's really painful to see the massacres of the unwary who buy so emotionally without due thinking. It's sad, the story has not ended yet as the following days will see a lot of distress selling and more pain; after this I really don't know how the "white knights" are going to resurrect the companies with this sort of reputation and angst involved going forward. One can only wish them well for the sake of those who are landed holding the scripts.

Hi chipchip66,

Don't forget that Equation tripled in price. It's not back to original price yet.

Citiraya's creditors could also be selling to get back whatever they can.

The recent spate of criminality among the top management of some listed companies makes me wonder how many more are undiscovered?

What are the tell tale signs that investors can look out for so that we can steer clear from a disaster like today?
