Engineer at DSTA !!! I was a computer engineer at DSTA for 2 years after my graduation from NUS too !! Stressful job, but DSTA environment not bad, considered a stat board, very stable, bonus about 2 to 3 months a year, including 13th month. Every year they will increase pay by 3% or so, every 3 years or so will have promotion.

Daughter also civil servant next time? Good lah, children all grown up, can relax, and wait for them to get married and give u grandchildren Smiley

Hi Ak, good morning! Envy you, can retire comfortably. If we don't plan for retirement early and invest wisely like yourself, most of us probably have to stay in the rat race and work our butts off for our bosses till our 60s. Thanks for your candid remarks and jokes. Many more carlsberg sessions ahead for all of us, lol , but personally I prefer Tiger beer  Smiley

Thanks for the enlightenment ! Thank you so so much ! Liquidity is really a problem for me too. And yeah..how do you search for all ur news and know which affects GSP ?

Oh no, no reason except for the Dow Jones and China's decision to hike interest rate. So Kepland is just gapping down together with STI. I am still bullish on Kepland and it should go up some more tomorrow. But I am currently slightly over-leveraged and I didn't want to risk going into margin call, so I just sell Kepland for some profits and focus back on GentingSp. GSP is still my main play.  Smiley

Singapore’s Straits Times Index declined 0.9% to 3,164.09 as of 10 a.m. local time. Twenty-seven stocks dropped on the 30-member gauge.

Shares on the measure trade at an average 15.5 times estimated earnings, compared with about 17.4 times at the beginning of the year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The following shares were among the most active in the market.

Bulk shipping companies: The Baltic Dry Index, which measures the cost of shipping commodities, fell 0.4% in London yesterday, extending its decline for a third day.

Cosco Corp. Singapore (COS SP), a China-based shipbuilder that also operates bulk carriers, slid 1% to $1.94. STX Pan Ocean Co. (STX SP), South Korea’s biggest bulk carrier, lost 0.8% to $14.64.

Commodity suppliers: The Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, declined 1.9% yesterday in New York.

Neptune Orient Lines (NOL SP), Southeast Asia’s biggest container carrier, climbed 1.9% to $2.10. The company said third-quarter net income increased to a US$282.3 million ($370.6 million) profit compared with a US$138.9 million loss a year earlier as freight rates rebounded. That beat the US$157.3 million average of three analysts’ estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

Osim International (OSIM SP), Asia’s biggest maker of massage chairs outside of Japan, advanced 1% to $1.06. The company said third-quarter profit increased 86% to $13 million from a year earlier.

Yes it seems so. GSP looks set for a white candle today, and it should make the MACD bullish crossover within this week. The MACD bullish crossover is one of my favourite buy signals.

Hey selling everything at 2.15 and buying back at 2.13 makes you a darn smart trader! Way to go!

Position at 2.02? what a holding power you got there. For me, I try to sell off every run as possible so I end up buying at high prices. Just like yesterday, I sold off everything that I bought at 2.15, my entry price is 2.10. But this time, I think il keep it until result announcement.

lol ok, 2.13 still sounds good. Good support at 2.12, 7 million.  I have positions from 2.02, 2.09 and some yesterday at 2.14. Should be good for keeping till results announcement.  Should maintain as white candle for GSP today barring any bad news.

Hey AK, hope you had a good carlsberg session yesterday lol  Smiley  Yeah, about your comments regarding trading courses, I agree that investors with cash positions need not bother with such courses. Just enter a trade with cash, and monitor it once a week, ignore the corrections and hold for as long as a couple of years or more.

But for highly leveraged margin traders like myself, we cannot afford to ride the corrections down, because if we do, we will get margin calls and brokers will force-sell our positions at a loss. So the course I have in mind is designed for traders, especially margin traders, who must know how to read the market every single day so they can survive the market, and not get slaughtered by BBs. It is a survival course rather than make-mega-profits course. If we learn proper risk management and how to survive the market long enough, the profits will come on its own. I want to do this, because I was nearly slaughtered about 8 months ago when I lost 80% of my capital trading Hong Kong and Singapore markets, and it took a lot of time, effort and emotional strength to learn proper trading before I could recover and begin afresh. And I found that having learnt the right tools, the right risk management, profits will come on its own. So hopefully nobody here has to go through the pain and the loss that I went through.

Ok thats all I want to say about that   Smiley
