haha. punter, by asking that question you intuitively know the answer already.

but let's take it a little deeper. in the female context it's the same: would a man love a woman that much if she didn't look as beautiful as she did when he first saw her?

because reduced to darwinian principles and evolutionary trends (yeayea, i'm belated), the definition of masculinity is strength; the definition of femininity is beauty.

and you know what both are? power.

that is where we can link up: "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely."

and that is also where you can get "fair of face, foul of heart".

And I suppose this remains the underlying 'gnawing' discomfort many moneyed men have to face.

yeah, and what's more, he's doing it for free. Only hope those attending can imbibe the value of education and not the value of hot tips....

btw, has anyone noticed? our Fellowship thread has broken 30,000 viewership! *clapclapclap* not bad for a 2.5 mth old thread....

*break out the mead!* or champagne, or sake, or whatever your poison of choice is. keke.

The real point is:

Would the woman had "loved" the man had the man not possessed what he possessed when the woman proclaimed her love for him.

I suppose this question can never ever be answered.

Simon Loh's topics constitute a complete stock market course in itself.

hey, market's green today! :)))))

tanglinboy. keke. high standards? nah. it's simply a question of commensurate value. ;)

ipunter. interesting question. i suppose it all depends on whether the woman in question married the guy for money or love. If it's the former, she'll leave him when he's poor. if the latter, she'll stand by him through it all. which leads back to tanglinboy's question, you see; commensurate value. What you pay is what you get.

haha.

i think simonloh has a very kind heart for organising/doing such a seminar. hats off to him man. :)

victorian. HPL shot up today still. perhaps it's too much too fast.... who's meeting you on thurs? i wanna know too if firstlady's a guy or a girl. keke.

and mister ngiammie! remember, fat stars are good stars. they're heralds of stuffed wallets and prophets of gold. keke.

I think capital gain is not taxable, only dividends are.

if a guy really make big bucks from stockmarket and talks about it, would'nt he run the risk of tax man coming after him...?Image

And furthermore,  many do not realise the risk they are in for throughout those years.

Most investors hold and put their trust the long-term trend.

Rather, it is more common to hear of people making a bit of money in the stock market, but losing a lot.

Your idea is true...

It seems as though other than Warren Buffet, Livermore...and only a handful of other names, there isn't many others to cite.

If it is easy to make money in the stock market, then there would be many many more names to quote.

The reality is it is not easy to make big money inthe stock market.

I also believe that a true stock market guru is someone who makes tons of money on the stock market. Teaching other people just becomes his passion. He may even do it out of goodwill or for very little monetary returns. Just like Warren Buffet!

Yes, right you are...

Poor Simon may not have expected  it will result in so much work for himself just by posting helpful stocktips on an Internet forum.

In any marketplace, where there is a good demand for a particular service, particularly from people eager to make a fortune from the knowledge gained through that service, it is good to provide that service.

I don't think Simonloh is trying to gain anything out of this sharing session by setting up a newsletter or such. Bear in mind that this session wasn't his idea in the first place but fortunegal's. He's a kind soul who wants to share his knowledge with people.

Well, i supposed it depends on the success of his debut on Mar 24th.. personally, many kiasus would want to wait and see if he is worth his salt... and people would  ask the question if Simonloh (with greatest respect to him) is that good he should be like Warren Buffet....

I certainly believe so...

as I have faith in Simon's spirit of service and good intentions, which are done in good faith on his part.

I certainly hope Simon will be rewarded appropriately for his good work and diligence.
